Artist Thoughts on a Saturday
Looking at these photos, the thing I've come to truly enjoy about this painting is that it reads very quintessentially Caribbean/ local (Trini) without having a "beach on a brochure " vibe. It's familiar to the day to day lived experience.

Oh my, these definitely are a throwback back. I remember these being so experimental at the time ( ). In the world of painting, portraiture and figure work always resonated more as something I admired as opposed to something I wanted to create.
The desire to weave the human form into my work in a greater capacity has increased over the years. I'll definitely be doing more figure work in the near future as it still tracks on this semi-observational train I've been on recently.
