Cant wait to see our fellow students present!

For 24 years, Animae Caribe has been blessed with kind-hearted mentors, from Disney’s Smith to Sony Animation’s Tyree Dillahay and LAIKA’s Brad Schiff all sharing real love and support with Caribbean creators.

This year, executive producer Bruno Zarka joined that legacy. With support from CARIRI - The Caribbean Industrial Research Institute, the and the Caribbean Development Bank he mentored over 40 young creators from Jamaica, Suriname, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago and more.

That journey culminated in our Pitch Jam, where five ideas rose to the top and one winning project will now move forward with the support of Anime Caribbean House.

As we gear up for our 25th anniversary in 2026, we celebrate every mentor who has lifted us up. And this year, we’re thrilled to finally welcome Bruno to our shores to meet his mentees and help propel them to the next level. TTT Live Online The Trinidad and Tobago FILM Company

Whether you're a content creator, storyteller, or just itching to break into animation, and maybe even pitch at the next Animae Caribe Festival check out the workshop.

Workshop 1: Scene Building and Compositing in Animation Fundamentals (In Person) Isis Chaviano is a Creative director at Estudios de Animación ICAIC in Cuba. She was formally trained at FAMCA (Faculty of Audiovisual Media Arts, ISA)

Workshop 2: Professional Development and Industry Trends (Online) - Bruno Zarka is a veteran in global IP/franchise development, known for roles in Masha & The Bear, Naruto, and pioneering kids’ digital media strategies.

By patronizing the screenings of AC24 you will be supporting the ICONIC Little Carib Theatre. Every ticket sold goes towards this symbol of resistance. Even if you are not attending you can contribute it’s been a tough year for the creative sector especially for festivals. Animae Caribe and Little Carib Theatre present two nights of animation screenings. THURSDAY screenings shows Cuban resistance through animation, music and dialogue. Hosted by the inspiring poet & activist Shareefa Energy with creative director at Estudios de Animación Isis Chaviano. Starting with three Cuban short films and ending with the 1986 Cult Classic ‘VAMPIRES IN HAVANA’ by Juan Padron . FRIDAY screening is a powerful evening of protest animation, activism, and dialogue! featuring Pixar’s Searit Huluf and cultural advocate Attillah Springer. This event explores gender equality, cultural memory, and social justice through the animation artform. The viral animated short From Roots to Recognition will be screened, followed by a powerful dialogue led by Attillah and Shareefa. Together, they’ll delve into the symbolism of the iconic Steelpan as a profound emblem of protest and resilience.

In 2026 Animae Caribe Animation Festival will be celebrating 25 years. We have been consistent in our intentions to be inclusive in our approach. We screen films from under-represented countries like Cuba and Africa, using outdoor screens, blending festival with tourism and culture. After years of legal battle the Trini invented Steel Pan finally got Geographical Indication (GI) rights on August 9. So festival for us is not only about big names in the industry, it is about animation as an art-form that celebrates culture and art. So we open our 2024 edition in the iconic PhaseII Pan Yard, screening local films with our guest experiencing and authentic 'Pan Yard' with corn soup and doubles serving.... ooh yes and don't forget the Trini Rum we cant forget that! So here we go! The week is here!
