This global recognition not only honours the invention of the steelpan right here in Trinidad and Tobago, but it also affirms our intellectual property rights to this powerful symbol of cultural expression.

Let’s continue to protect and promote the legacy of the steelpan — an instrument that speaks the rhythm of our people and the soul of our nation.
