In 2011, music lessons were started as a part of our music therapy practice, Music Inspiring Change.Students were accepted for instruction. In 2014, the decision was taken to expand the program into a separate organisation, and the Martinez School of Music was born. The school is primarily staffed by husband-and-wife team Cristiano and Keisha Martinez. Advanced students also can assist with some i

Mrs. Martinez is a Board-Certified Music Therapist and graduate of the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami, Florida, where she also attained a degree in psychology. She also holds a Diploma in Violin Performance and Grade 8 certificates in Piano and Music Theory from the Associated Boards of the Royal Schools of Music, as well as Grade 8 in Steelpan Performance by the Creative Arts (UWI). She currently serves as an Adjunct Lecturer at the Department of Creative and Festival Arts, UWI, as well as at the Music Department at the University of the Southern Caribbean. She is a substitute teacher at Court Street Chamber Orchestra School in San Fernando, and Choir Director of the St. Mary's Children's Home Girls' Choir. Together with Mr. Martinez, she owns Music Inspiring Change, which still provides music therapy services to many organisations and groups throughout the nation. Currently, she works as a music therapist at the Cyril Ross Nursery.
