This relatively recent TikTok trend involves freezing honey for 5 hours or more in a plastic bottle.

Once frozen, the honey is removes from the fridge and allowed to thaw a little so it can be forced up out of the bottle to be eaten.🍯

But this trend seems to be leaving a bad taste in many doctors' and experts' mouths.

Here are 3️⃣ things to be mindful of it you decide to try this trend. 👇🏾

1️⃣ The recommended daily amount of honey is between 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon. So if you do try it be mindful of this before you bite in.

2️⃣ Honey is dry by nature and when it is frozen can cause cough and congestion in the respiratory tract. If you already have a cough you may want to stay away from this trend.

3️⃣ For best use, honey should be stored in a cool dry place. Refrigerating or freezing honey speeds up its crystallization and could affect it's effectiveness depending on what you are trying to achieve. If you do try the trend, don't freeze the entire bottle.
