Official choir for monthly Youth Masses at the Parish of St. Theresa's Barataria:-* Every 1st Sunday and 3rd Saturday of every month
We also sing at Weddings, Funerals, any other function. SO BOOK US EARLY

The members of the St Theresa’s New Generation Choir are grateful that we can be called upon as a bunch of talented young group, that is willing to step in and support the music ministry of our

church. The Choir was newly established on the 17th May 2014, known as the Youth Choir. As months went by, we decided to change the name due to the different age brackets of members. The choir comprises of Youths and Young Adults, and with that we formed the “New Generation Choir” The choir stands today with a membership of eighteen (18) members. We have proudly proven ourselves worthy within the ministry, which we eagerly partake in. Besides our regularly scheduled Masses on 1st Sunday and 3rd Saturday of Every month, the Choir embarks in singing at Weddings and Funerals. We have also done exchanges of choir with the members of the OLPH El Socorro chapel and also a contingent of Dominicans. The choir has successfully stood together, and we are planning to push forward to greater things for the years ahead. Besides our scheduled masses we are also looking to; embark in fundraising activities, concerts, musical training for members, sourcing young persons who are able to accompany with different instruments, we are presently obtaining our very own uniforms, which we members will fund on our own. The St Theresa’s New Generation Choir is very appreciative for all the support and contributions, which is made one way or another by so many people. Running a choir is quite a task to organize music, finances, refreshments, socials but the general support given by members of the congregation, and friends and family of choir members, all of this goes a long way and is appreciated greatly by all members. The members of the choir always appreciate being part of the worshipping community, and making our contribution to the life of the church. We are looking forward to working with everyone in the years ahead. Though we have encountered a few too many turbulences on our journey together (amongst ourselves and within the parish community), we continue to be devoted and committed to serving our Church. We intend to stand together as young people and recover from the "We can’t do it" mentality to the “Yes we are young and we got the power and potential to do it.”

We are still open for welcoming all young persons to join us, “To call forth in excellence” despite the negatives which may deter you. For it’s the spirit of God that will set us FREE.

CONSECRATION TO THE DIVINE MERCY

Jesus, the Divine Mercy, I consecrate my entire life, from this day on, to You without reserve. Into Your hands, I abandon my past, my present, and my future. From this day forward, make me a true follower of Your teaching. Let Your Divine Mercy Image protect my home and my family from all the powers of evil in this world today. May all who venerate it never perish, may it be their joy in life, their hope in death, and their glory in eternity. Amen.

God, merciful Father, in your Son, Jesus Christ, You have revealed your love and poured it out upon us in the Holy Spirit, the Comforter. We entrust to You today the destiny of the world and of every man and woman. Bend down to us sinners, heal our weakness, conquer all evil, and grant that all the peoples of the earth may experience Your mercy. In You, the Triune God, may they ever find the source of hope. Eternal Father, by the Passion and Resurrection of Your Son, have mercy on us and upon the whole world!

Amen.

PRAYER OF ENTRUSTMENT TO DIVINE MERCY

O Lord, our God.
We place our trust in You,
Because you are mercy itself.
We repent of our sins and turn to You for mercy.
We trust You to provide for our every need, according to Your will.
Help us to forgive others as You forgive us.
We promise to be merciful by our deeds, words and prayers.
Though we have fears because of human weakness, we rely on Your infinite goodness and mercy.
We entrust to You the future of our planet, our Church, our nations, our families and all our needs.
With loud cries we implore your mercy on us and on the whole world.
Look upon us, created in your image and likeness.
Form us in the Heart of Mary by the power of the Holy Spirit into the living images of mercy.
May all come to know the depth of Your mercy and sing the praises of Your mercy forever.

Amen!

✨VOTE OF THANKS FROM THE DIRECTOR: KIRWIN SAMUEL ✨

On behalf of the St-Theresa's/OLPH Parish and the Catechists of the confirmation class who were involved in the Re-enactment of the Passion of Christ on our Good Friday morning walk, we would like to say a Very Special Thank You to the entire Parish community, without whose support we would not have been able to execute such a memorable, spirit-filled and inspiring performance.

A Special Thank You to all who made the performance a success:

✔ Mr. Kirwin Samuel who produced and directed the skit, as well as the assistant director Ms. Aisha Moore: thank you for showing our youth the value and the joy in being a part of the body of Christ.
✔ The actors and actresses of the confirmation class who willingly participated: we are thankful to you for following the Lord’s leading and moving forward with joy into this work. As Pope Francis stated “In the dough of the world, you are the good leaven destined to rise, to break down many social and cultural barriers, and to foster the growth of fraternity and innovation.”
✔ Our production team that helped with costumes and props: Mr. John Martyr for his prompt response in building a cross, Mr. Roland Thomas for helping design some of the costumes. Ms. Edme Kississon and Mrs. Ruth Self-Francis for helping us source materials.
✔ Our technical team responsible for audio: Mr. Rawlson Paul and Mr. Calliston Pantor for ensuring the community was able to hear the morning’s proceedings.
✔ Songs and vocals: Ms. Jennifer Thomas for her wonderful music selection and performance of songs for the stations.
✔ Video and photography team: Ms. Sabrina Marks, Mr. Kashawn Cedeno and Ms. Mariella Francis for their wonderful capture of the dramatization of the stations.
✔ The Barataria Anglican Primary school for granting us use of the school for the proceedings.

To the parents/guardians of the candidates, and the wider parish community, we express heartfelt gratitude to each of you for believing in the youth of the community to be able to bring our vision to life and elevate our Easter Triduum.

A church without Youth is a Church without a Future. Moreover, Youth without a Church is Youth without a Future. Thank You for believing in the Youth. We wish you all every grace and blessing. 🙏

"HAPPY EASTER FROM THE NEW GENERATION CHOIR"

As the Easter Tridium has ended, St. Theresa's New Generation Choir sends out special thanks to everyone who continues to support us as we minister to all in song.
We are grateful for the amazing and positive feedback as we led the music ministry on:
✔ Palm Sunday
✔ At the Good Friday's Service
✔ Jointly at the 'Easter Vigil'
It was AWESOME. We feel so blessed that we have touched the congregation of St-Theresa's RC Church Barataria and those who viewed virtually, with our song.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

We have journeyed through the Passion of Christ, let us now celebrate His Resurrection, as we enter into the Easter Season.
