CARNIVAL CATWALK WINS BEST ENTERTAINMENT PROGRAMME AT 57TH CARIBBEAN BROADCASTING UNION AWARDS

GEORGETOWN, GUYANA — August 2026 — Trinidad and Tobago-produced reality series Carnival Catwalk has won Best Entertainment Programme – Television at the 57th Annual Caribbean Broadcasting Union (CBU) Awards, held in Guyana which saw 684 entries from 16 different countries .

Receiving the award were Executive Producers Jerome “Rome” Precilla, Rodney Seemungal and Gian Franco, marking another major milestone for the groundbreaking Caribbean production.

Carnival Catwalk made history as the first reality television show from Trinidad and Tobago to be featured on a major U.S. streaming platform and currently airs on NBCUniversal’s Peacock in the United States.

Set against the creativity and energy of Trinidad and Tobago Carnival, the series brings together fashion, culture and competition, while showcasing Caribbean designers, models and creative talent to an international audience.

Executive Producer and creator Jerome “Rome” Precilla said the recognition represents more than a win for the show.

“This award is bigger than Carnival Catwalk. It shows that television created and produced in Trinidad and Tobago can compete at a high level and reach major international platforms. The Caribbean has incredible creative talent, and our goal has always been to take our stories and culture to the world.”

The producers thanked the Government of Trinidad and Tobago , cast, crew, designers, models, sponsors, partners and supporters who helped bring the series to life.

The CBU Award further strengthens Carnival Catwalk’s mission to demonstrate the global potential of Caribbean-produced entertainment and create new opportunities for the region’s creative industry.
