Fatih Sungurtekin Artpostart

Fatih Sungurtekin Artpostart Artist Fatih Sungurtekin's Artworks Fatih Sungurtekin started painting from his childhood by making mud toys and drawing pictures on the walls.

His high school teacher discovered his talent and directed him towards the visual arts. His artistic life began when he entered the Painting and Drawing Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts in 1995. He had participated in many National and International exhibitions as a conceptual artist. With the concept of "Moment and Memory" at the university and later, he produced studies on "time, the destr

uction of urban heritage, the reduction of human dialogues, the change and erasure of social memory". His art in this process contains warnings, information and messages for the future. In these works, he applied installation, ready-made materials and mixed techniques on various materials such as walls, paper and canvas. Later, the artist diversified the concept of "Moment and Memory" by combining and expanding the concepts of time, space and memory, and focused on organizing and recording what we experience in our memory by abstracting it momentarily. In the same way, he produced snapshots that were abstracted by the superposition of momentary things. Making connections between his own memory and collective memory, the artist produced works that were manipulated on his canvas. The overlapping moments creating time and memory led him to produce more layered works. In recent years, the artist, making use of micro-macro cosmic elements, the forms and shapes of nature and living things, tries to reveal the invisible beauties of nature and the moment we live in, by producing layered works. The artist, who establishes similarities and relationships with things inside and outside of our body and thoughts, creates by blending the elements in his painting with the figure that has aesthetic expression. The work, which appears to be a single surface from a distance, turns into works that deepen in meaning with new visuals and sections as they approach. While each collage element supports the main image, it creates new meanings in itself and evokes different feelings in the viewer. The artist examines the relationship of being and absence based on the known and unknown in the context of time and perception. The paintings creates awareness for the viewer in his inner and outer journey. Here's what he says about his artworks: Painting should take you on an inner, mental, universal, and perceptual journey.

“The Shaman’s Light of Blessing” 2025
Mixed Media, Oil on Canvas, Size: 80 W x 110 H x 4 D cm. By Fatih Sungurtekin, Turkey

The Shaman’s Light of Blessing is shaped by the artist’s exploration of mystical energy and chakra symbolism. Yellow and orange light, representing creation and production, radiates from the model’s hand as a source of spiritual healing. Turkish shamanic symbols appear on a kam drum, while the evil eye bead connects tradition with contemporary culture. Lace strips—some from the artist’s wife’s dowry—merge personal memory with abstract textures. A cosmic throne, stars, and the Hittite double-headed eagle enrich the cultural depth. Blue, turquoise, purple, and green tones evoke protection, nobility, and infinity. The work becomes both a spiritual journey and a bridge between individual memory and universal healing.

Have a great day🍀

“Firuze” Painting, 2026(revision)
Fatih Sungurtekin, Turkey
Painting, Oil on Canvas
75 W x 85 H cm

In his work titled “Firuze, (named Turquoise)” Fatih Sungurtekin creates a layered visual language that unites the microscopic and the cosmic. The composition becomes a space where the transformed body, personal memories, stories of the moment, and the universal life cycle converge. Microbiological forms centered around Linda Evangelista and integrated into the figure evoke renewal, while silkworm fibers, lace patterns, and reflected light create a tactile dialogue between organic structures and cultural memory.

The firuze tones echoing the Aegean and Mediterranean add spatial openness to the work, while the double-headed eagle alludes to symbolic elements of the places where the artist lives. The artist constructs his visual based on the interconnectedness of continuity, transformation, and existence through the interaction of micro-life and the micro-texture of the body in the formation of raw materials and the lived moment.

Ege ve Akdeniz'i yankılayan firuze (turkuaz) tonları esere mekânsal açıklık katarken, çift başlı kartal sanatçının yaşadığı yerlerin sembolik unsurlarına gönderme yapıyor. Sanatçı, görselini, ham maddelerin oluşumunda ve yaşanan anda mikro yaşam ve bedenin mikro dokusunun etkileşimi yoluyla süreklilik, dönüşüm ve varoluşun birbirine bağlılığı üzerine kuruyor.
