Art Connects – Our Vision for ONE WORLD
When I travel around the world and share my impressions with you, I am grateful for the privilege of being able to do so in peace. At the same time, I am deeply moved by the unrest and crises on our planet. When the media spotlight moves on, the darkness of everyday life remains for many people. Behind the global conflicts, there are no abstract news stories – there are fathers, mothers, and children whose very existence is at stake every single day.
Looking away is not an option, because we are ONE WORLD. As female artists, we see it as our task, together with artists worldwide, to build bridges and focus attention on our common humanity – beyond politics and borders. Tolerance, respect, and peace must once again become the central values guiding our actions.
That is why I am very happy to be a co-founder of www.lumenart.gallery. For two years, we have been running this global digital platform to give artists from all over the world visibility. We welcome creatives from all cultures, but intentionally focus entirely on the unifying, non-political power of art.
My deepest gratitude and respect go to my partner, Nasrah Nefer. She is an outstanding, versatile artist who dedicatedly does the core work of this valuable project every single day. Our competitions are free of charge for the artists. Therefore, we are looking for sponsors to support our work. As a thank you, I have decided to honor every sponsorship contribution with a small piece of artwork.
Nasrah and I are currently planning a Lumen Art Gallery Week, where we will present our project, ourselves, and artists from all over the world on a single screen.
