starts tomorrow and I am ready! I have never done one of these challenges before but this year I have the time and also I think I finally have the discipline down to create a new artwork everyday ⌛🤓

A few additional challenges I put myself up for are firstly, not filling a page with corners. I want the illustrations to be in the middle so that I can use them later for other things like merch, stickers, t-shirts etc. or even a pattern since I think the artwork will be quite harmonious. Secondly, I won't be looking at any references (not even for drawing correct anatomy) or color palettes. Final challenge is filming what I draw each day. 🎥This means posting, filming, editing and writing captions everyday 🤯🤯

They say it takes a month to form a new habit and what a better way to do it other than . So as per usual I'll first be drawing on paper, then go over it on 🌼🌸🪻🪷🐝

[EN] I love seeing artists home studios. For now mine is just my computer and Ipad on our dining table and of course a bag for little things like my chargers and pencils because my cats like to throw them off the table 🫥 This bag thing started when one of them threw my magic mouse on the floor 🫠 Hopefully in the coming months I will have a room to myself 🙌

[TR] Sanatçıların ev stüdyolarını görmek çok hoşuma gidiyor. Şimdilik benimki yemek masamızın üzerindeki bilgisyarım, ipadim ve şarj aletlerim, kalemlerim gibi küçük eşyalarımı koyabileceğim bir çantadan oluşuyor çünkü kedilerim her şeyi yere atıyorlar 🫥 Bu çanta olayı bir gün magic mouseumu yere atmalarıyla başladı 🫠 Gelecek aylarda kendime ait bir çalışma odam olacak diye umuyorum 🙌

[EN] I joined the community potluck lunch at ATÖLYE İstanbul Hub on thursday to talk about the visual notetaking I did at the "Post-Disaster Common Life and Community Spaces Workshop”. I talked about my experience as an illustrator capturing the 2-day workshop with live visual notetaking and the creative process for bringing the final graphic narrative to life. [TR] Depremin büyük yıkımlara sebep olduğu Kahramanmaraş ve Hatay’da yapılan gözlemler, depremzedelerle yapılan görüşmeler ve bölgede filizlenen bağımsız inisiyatiflerin paylaştıklarından yola çıkılarak “Afet Sonrası Ortak Yaşam ve Topluluk Alanları “ çalıştayı 25-26 Şubat tarihlerinde ATÖLYE’de, ATÖLYE, Neol ve Aposto partnerliğinde gerçekleşti. 65’ten fazla kurumdan 100’den fazla katılımcının katıldığı çalıştayı takiben, depremden etkilenen bölgelerin orta ve uzun vadeli ihtiyaçlarını insan onuruna yaraşır ve tüm canlılara saygılı bir şekilde karşılayacak çözümler üretmeyi ve somut adımlar içeren yol haritaları çıkarmayı hedefleyen bir çalıştaydı. 
İki gün boyunca çalıştayı dolaşarak, ortaya çıkan fikirleri görselleştirdim. İnanılmaz bir deneyimdi benim için. ve aher şey için teşekkür ederim.  .io .co     [EN] Based on the observations which were made in Kahramanmaraş and Hatay, where the earthquake caused great destruction, the interviews made with the earthquake victims, and from the information which was received from the independent initiatives that sprouted in the region, the "Post-Disaster Common Life and Community Spaces" workshop was held at ATÖLYE, in partnership with ATÖLYE, Neol and Aposto. Following the workshop (which more than 100 participants from more than 65 institutions participated in), the aim was to produce solutions that will meet the medium and long-term needs of the regions which were affected by the earthquake, in a manner befitting human dignity and respectful to all living things, and to draw up road maps with concrete steps.
  I walked around the workshop for two days, visualizing the ideas that emerged. It was an incredible experience for me. Thank you and for everything.   .io .co   . . . .

[EN] I try to post my current illustrations however there are projects I'm working on which I can't share here. This means on top of the work I'm doing, I have to make stuff just for Instagram and it can be overwhelming. So here is an illustration I made many years ago which reflects my current mood (correct the text to overwhelmed) . It's quite different from my current style. But his will have to do. 💩

[EN] Here is the illustration process of one of my favorite spreads from It's Bedtime Bunnies! 🐰🥕I didn't include color testing and character design because some of them are really messy until I put them together 🙄 By the way I realized it's been a while since I illustrated a story book. I hope I'll get to do one soon 🤓

[EN] Roughly three years ago I started to get serious about a career in illustration. When I heard people were overwhelmed with work, I was so jealous. So now when I am swamped with work, I remember those days and of course the times when work slows down 😬 Immediately I am grateful again.

[TR] Yaklaşık üç yıl önce illüstrasyon alanında çalışmak konusunda ciddi bir çaba sarf etmeye başladım. O zamanlar insanların iş yüzünden çok yoğun olduğunu duyduğumda inanılmaz kıskanıyordum. O yüzden işlerim yoğun olduğu zaman, o günleri ve işlerin durgun olduğu zamanları hatırlatıyorum kendime 😬 Anında minnettar hissediyorum.

[EN] Since I don't have room to display my work, sometimes I take them out of the drawer they live in. Just to reminisce and get motivated about my job. It always does the trick. 😊💖

[EN] One of the many questions running through my mind lately: Should I do Inktober? 🙄 Every year I want to join. Every year october is one of the busiest months for me. I guess I'll have to jump in at some point and risk the sleepless nights and the burnout. But not this year 💩

[TR] Bu aralar aklımdaki milyon tane sorudan biri: Inktober'a katılsam mı? 🙄 Her yıl katılmak istiyorum ama ekim ayı hep çok yoğun geçiyor. Bir noktada her şeyi göze alıp yapmam gerekecek ama bu yıl o yıl değil 💩

(This is an illustration I made a while ago but didn't want to share because it doesn't look like my usual work. However I think artists shouldn't be too concerned with consistency 💩 What do you think? I will ask this on my stories as well)
