All orders have been dropped at the post office today 🎁

This piece was inspired by all the amazing architecture in London, especially St. Paul’s Cathedral. I carved into this closed form jar using mainly just an X-acto knife and a wooden shaping tool.

While I was carving it started to look more Arabesque, maybe it was on my mind because I was also going to Istanbul for a week.

This piece definitely reflects my travel experiences so far. There will be much more to come in the new year… Year of the Fire Horse 🧧🐎🔥

I have finally updated the shop 🎊 I painted on luster and fired the kiln the same night I flew into New York.

Next day unloaded the kiln, photographed all work, and delivered a commission.

So here we are…

There are only a few pieces because they are each so very special :) anything purchased now will be shipped out before Christmas 🎄

Thank you! Happy holidays!

📍🇹🇷 Some favorites from my trip to Istanbul.
That cat stretching was the second most amazing view, the first was the Blue Mosque of course! 🧿

Perfect November weather for walking along the Bosphorus Strait and also the last slide is Taksim Square.

Overall a fun trip 🕌 the overall health of the street cats seem good compared to some other countries I’ve been in 💕

One recommendation I have for tourists is to use Uber instead of yellow cabs because it’s cheaper and safer

I will have a limited amount of new items available by next weekend 👀
Im just waiting for things to get fired🤞🏽
Basically I’m going back to the U.S BRIEFLY right before Christmas so if you want to buy something in the U.K it might be tricky but possible…

U.S folks: you will have a window of time. 15th-24th to purchase something. It’s cone 7-8 porcelain made with English Grolleg… so something new for you 😉

Fingers crossed it all survives the firing. It’s cone 7-8 porcelain. Please comment your ideas for glaze colors!

My first week in London
I completely failed the first time throwing with this porcelain. It’s cone 7-8 and feels completely different from the clays I’m used to in the United States…
Take a look at the second slide, it’s incredibly short even fresh out the bag!
I couldn’t get more than five inches tall…. And I was questioning my entire existence 🫠

But then I gave throwing another go two days later and learned it’s language… this porcelain 1)does not do well with the sponge 2) generates a lot of slip 3) must be thrown SLOWLY on the wheel 4) is extremely thixotropic. The wet clay from throwing can turn hard while wedging in like 1 minute. Which is insane to experience lol. It’s goop in its resting state but verrry stiff if you apply a lot of pressure. Which makes slam wedging nearly impossible.

Also, these wheels don’t have bat pins which is new for me as I like to keep pots on bats and remove from under the pot using the metal rib, which I cannot do without the bat pins, due to torque.

All this to say, I became somewhat friends with this porcelain, and was able to get 10 inches next time. It seemed to be quite nice with sculpting.

I’ll be posting process videos of the other pieces I made this week 💕🫡 stay tuned ♥️
