Terrarium Stories

Terrarium Stories Architectural Models & DIY Miniature House Kits Paspasın Bahceleri is an atelier based in Istanbul. The atelier is founded by two Architects A. Ugurlu Ozberk & M.

For more than 10 years we have been designing miniature gardens and terrariums with plants, moss and with special miniature objects. E. Ozberk. We are the lucky minors who were trained for the occupation that they wanted. We were passionate about architecture so we’ve studied in Istanbul, Turkey and worked in big firms. When our passion ended up in corporate life, it turned out something different

than we’ve expected. During the day we were lost in these big projects of shopping malls, hotels, factories, houses. So we needed an escape for ourselves and found our little break by discovering the unique beauty in plants. Paspasin Bahceleri project came up with the unification of admiration for the nature and our background for design education. We’ve first started to grow bonsais with our cat Paspas’s food plates. Than we’ve discovered the world that was happening around these bonsais. We’ve decided to call them miniature gardens and started to give them away to our friends as presents. After that everything happened so quickly and suddenly our gardens which were the first in the world became really famous with the help of our friends and media. Right after our cat Paspas’s sudden death, there was an article about us at The New York Times and our story became international. Right now in our atelier at Caddebostan, Istanbul, we are still trying to create that peaceful atmosphere via our miniature gardens and terrariums as our lovely cat Paspas’s legacy. Aysegul & Emre
