This moment deserved a post of its own. Walking the yellow carpet in Siena and receiving my first place award as a photographer from Türkiye was a moment of immense pride.💛🏆

Let’s just say the walk was a little more eventful than it looks. 😉👠

My heartfelt thanks to the entire Siena Awards team and especially to , whose dedication and vision make this extraordinary event possible.

🇹🇷

Since my Siena Awards journey began in 2019, I have had the honour of receiving 2 Winner, 2 Highly Commended and 5 Commended awards.

Looking back, what makes me proudest is not just the awards themselves, but the consistency behind them.

This year, I am also especially proud to be the only woman to win first place across all categories of the Drone Photo Awards. I would also like to congratulate all the Turkish photographers who represented our country at Siena and made us proud with their achievements.

A single success may be a coincidence. Repeated success tells a different story.

Consistency is never a coincidence.

Thank you, Siena Awards , for being part of this journey.

🇹🇷

Scrap metal recycling significantly reduces the use of chemicals and fossil fuels required for producing new products. Scrap metal recycling significantly reduces the use of chemicals and fossil fuels required for producing new products. It substantially reduces greenhouse gas emissions. According to the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI), recycling metal can cut greenhouse gas emissions by 300 million to 500 million tons annually. Additionally, the National Institutes of Health reported in 2012 that using scrap metal instead of virgin ore generates 97% less mining waste and consumes 40% less water.scrap metal recycling allows us to conserve the finite resources available on Earth.
In recycling, one ton (1,000 kg) of scrap metal can yield 700-800 kg of clean, molten metal, preventing significant environmental pollution.

Located in Konya, Turkey, the Kalyon Karapınar Solar Power Plant covers an area of approximately 20 million square meters—roughly a quarter the size of Paris, or equivalent to 2,600 football fields. The facility stands as Europe’s largest solar power plant.

Almost a century-old village coffeehouse in Karapınar, Konya. Still hanging on its wall is a photograph of Meke Lake from a time when it still held water and was known locally as “Konya’s evil eye bead” for its distinctive blue, circular appearance. Once an iconic symbol of the region, the lake has now completely dried up amid prolonged drought and the effects of climate change.
Most of the village’s younger population has migrated to larger cities, leaving behind mainly the elderly residents who have lived in the region for decades.
