Gentle Cohesion is an international platform for intercultural dialogue built around fragility, solidarity, and the contemporary female experience. The first exhibition was presented in 2025 at the Brâncoveanu Palaces Cultural Centre in Mogoșoaia. The project later continued at Fantom Gallery in Berlin, bringing together women artists from diverse cultural contexts. Across its editions, Gentle Cohesion has brought together artists from Romania, Egypt, India, Thailand, Mozambique, Ireland, Germany, Japan, Poland, Turkey, Tunisia, Spain, Mexico, the United States, Belgium, Austria, China, and the Netherlands.
The third edition, Where did I leave my keys? (Where did I leave my keys?), starts from an everyday, familiar gesture and focuses on the difficulty of staying present in a world dominated by overload and fragmented attention. The exhibition brings together paintings, drawings, photography, installations, objects, and mixed-media works created by women artists from different cultural and geographical contexts.
In Vienna, the project takes on an explicitly interdisciplinary dimension through the meeting of art and psychologyfor the first time. The two books presented on the opening evening address themes such as self-acceptance, vulnerability, insomnia, mental overload, and the difficulty of stopping the flow of thoughts, creating a dialogue with the central concerns of the exhibition.
From 10 September to 8 October 2026, the Romanian Cultural Institute in Vienna hosts the international contemporary art exhibition GENTLE COHESION, 3rd edition – where did I leave my keys?, curated by Adriana Florea Băloiu. The opening will take place on Thursday, 10 September 2026, at 7 pm. The opening event will also include the presentation of two books, both published in Romanian: The Woman Who Befriended Her Mind by psychologist Corina Danu, and I Want to Sleep. Understanding Insomnia from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Perspective by Dr. Ica Secoșan.
