Recap ✨🐆

Last Monday, the Austrian Ludwig Foundation, together with PART Residency, hosted an artist talk with Gülsün Karamustafa (gulsun karamustafa) in conversation with Christian Liclair.

Throughout the evening, they discussed Karamustafa’s artistic practice, with a particular focus on her short video The City and the Secret Panther Fashion (2007). The conversation was based on a text Christian Liclair wrote during his Writers Residency at PART about the works acquired by the Austrian Ludwig Foundation. You can read the full text on our website.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to the discussion. And a special thank you to PART Residency for hosting such an inspiring evening!!

Editions and Echoes, BüroSarıgedik’in yaz dönemine geçerken sanatçılarla sürdürdüğü diyaloğun bir uzantısı olarak izleyicileri sezonun son buluşmasına davet ediyor.

Hafta içi 10:00–18:00

Bringing together editioned works by artists from different generations, Editions and Echoes opens at BüroSarıgedik on Thursday, 25 June at 6:00 pm.✨
As the season draws to a close, the exhibition creates space for new encounters rather than marking an ending, presenting a special selection of works by artists represented by and collaborating with the gallery. Bringing together diverse techniques and approaches, Editions and Echoes focuses on the notions of repetition, difference, trace, and resonance embedded within the idea of reproduction.
Rather than converging around a single theme, the works brought together in the exhibition reveal distinct narratives that emerge through each artist’s own field of inquiry and visual language.
As an extension of the ongoing dialogue BüroSarıgedik maintains with artists, Editions and Echoes invites visitors to the gallery’s final gathering of the season before entering the summer period.

Gülsün Karamustafa’s artistic practice gives sustained attention to materials often dismissed as decorative, excessive, or out-of-style: leopard prints in its many reincarnations, shiny gold lamé, synthetic wall hangings, second-hand clothes, and gaudy interiors.
The evening begins with a screening of Karamustafa’s short video The City and the Secret Panther Fashion (2007) and is followed by a conversation between the artist and art historian Christian Liclair. Their discussion will draw on Liclair’s recent essay on works by Karamustafa that were acquired by the Austrian Ludwig Foundation in 2021 and are on loan to mumok, Vienna (mumok – Museum moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig Wien).

Gülsün Karamustafa is an artist based in Istanbul. Christian Liclair is an art historian and art critic based in Berlin. He was the Foundation’s resident at PART in November 2025.

Dilek Wi******er’ın yeni kişisel sergisi The Wound is Our Place, İsviçre’de der TANK’ta izleyiciyle buluşuyor.

Dilek Wi******er’s new solo exhibition, The Wound is Our Place, is now on view at der TANK, Switzerland.
Bringing together multiple alphabets historically used across the Balkans and Anatolia, the exhibition explores the relationship between language, belonging, history, and political memory. Departing from the notion of the “wound,” Wi******er approaches alphabets not merely as writing systems, but as carriers of cultural transmission and modes of coexistence. The work also raises questions about how language, identity, and geography are politically constructed and defined.
