Hello dear friends,

The qanun whose construction process we shared in several videos has now been completed. This instrument was custom-built for a musician in Lebanon, based on his teacher’s preferred lever and tuning system.

While the soundboard design reflects the owner’s preference for an Arabic-inspired aesthetic, the overall craftsmanship follows our own approach. The result is a unique instrument that combines different traditions while remaining highly practical for performance.

This 27-course qanun was built with a tuning setup one whole tone lower than the standard system, according to the owner’s request. What you hear today is its very first voice. As with all newly built qanuns, its tone will continue to mature and develop significantly over the next 6 to 12 months.

We are always happy to create fully custom-made instruments tailored to each musician’s personal preferences. The beauty of handcraftsmanship lies in the freedom to turn individual ideas into reality.

مرحباً أصدقائي الأعزاء،

اكتمل الآن صنع آلة القانون التي شاركناكم مراحل بنائها في عدة مقاطع فيديو. وقد صُنعت هذه الآلة خصيصاً لأحد الموسيقيين في لبنان، وفق نظام العربات (المندال) والتوزيع الصوتي الذي يفضله أستاذه.

أما الزخرفة العلوية فقد جاءت بناءً على رغبة صاحب الآلة بطابع عربي، بينما يعكس البناء العام والحرفة الفنية أسلوبنا الخاص. والنتيجة هي آلة مميزة تجمع بين أكثر من مدرسة موسيقية مع الحفاظ على العملية وسهولة الاستخدام.

تم تصنيع هذا القانون ذو 27 مجموعة أوتار وفق نظام ضبط أخفض بدرجة كاملة من النظام المعتاد، حسب طلب صاحبه. وما تسمعونه اليوم هو صوته الأول بعد اكتمال الصنع. وكما هو الحال مع جميع آلات القانون الجديدة، فإن صوته سيستمر في التطور وال

This custom qanun was crafted specifically for our client in Lebanon. Every detail, from the decorative design to the lever configuration, was developed according to the musician’s personal preferences and performance requirements. The instrument is built with standard string tension while tuned one whole step lower, featuring a specially customized lever system to match this setup. Creating unique instruments tailored to each musician is at the heart of our craftsmanship.
