FLOOD VICTIMS IN SIYOWI GET RELIEF FROM AREA MP, GARY NKOMBO.

Mazabuka Central Member of Parliament, Honourable Gary Nkombo, has donated 68 bags of 25-kilogramme mealie meal to 68 families affected by floods in Siyowi Ward.

The Member of Parliament also donated 420 bottles of 750-millilitre cooking oil and beans to the affected families.

Speaking during the donation exercise held at Siyowi Primary School on Thursday, Honourable Nkombo said he was duty bound to support the people who elected him into office.

He said floods are natural disasters that affect people unexpectedly, and leaders must stand with their communities during such difficult times.

Honourable Nkombo further said affected residents should always inform him whenever calamities occur so that he can offer assistance where possible.

Meanwhile, area Ward Councillor Keith Kabezo commended the Member of Parliament for personally supporting the affected families, describing the gesture as timely.

Councillor Kabezo added that government, through the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU), is currently assessing the situation and preparing a response.

And speaking on behalf of the affected families, Pamela Kabbudula thanked Honourable Nkombo for the donation, saying the support had brought relief to the flood victims.
