Throwback to the Global Peacebuilding Summit convening at Tilal Utique

From 8 May to 16 May 2026, peacebuilders from across the world came together at Tilal Utique for a moment of regeneration, reflection, learning, and connection.

For members of the network coming from conflict zones and high-stress environments, the summit created a rare space to pause, reconnect, and recharge in a peaceful natural setting.

Over several days, participants shared experiences, learned from one another, and imagined collaborations beyond borders — while taking time to reconnect with themselves beyond their work.

More than a hosting space, Tilal Utique became part of the experience itself: a place of calm, care, listening, and community.

Tilal Air April Cohort — Spotlight on Asanda Ruda

A choreographer, performance artist, and teacher whose powerful and visionary dance practice has gained international recognition.

Between 2015 and 2023, she performed globally, including in works by Pina Bausch, shaping a language rooted in intensity and presence.

Her solo work rose to prominence in 2021 with the l’Acogny D’Argent Award, leading to residencies across Zurich, Brussels, and HELLERAU Theatre in Dresden. In 2025, she received the Choreographers Research Residency Award at the Cité Internationale des Arts.

Her acclaimed piece KEMET Black Lands explores space, politics, and cultural emancipation through an Afro-contemporary lens — asserting identity and individuality while engaging with heritage, spirituality, and transformation.

Tilal Air April Cohort — Spotlight on Majd Mastoura

A Tunisian actor and stage director whose artistic journey began during the Tunisian revolution with the creation of Street Poetry, a street art movement rooted in public expression.

Since 2014, he has fully dedicated himself to acting, earning international recognition in 2016 with the Silver Bear for Best Actor at the Berlin International Film Festival for his role in Hedi, directed by Mohamed Ben Attia.

Trained in theatre at Sorbonne Nouvelle University and the Jacques Lecoq School, he later began teaching in Paris, while continuing to expand his practice between stage and screen.

He is currently developing his first theatrical production and, in 2026, co-founded Kiouff, a multidisciplinary creative company based in Paris, alongside Aicha Khenissi.

Tilal Air April Cohort — Spotlight on Passant El-Sayed

An Egyptian multidisciplinary artist and performer based in Cairo, whose practice spans contemporary dance, filmmaking, and acting.

Grounded in a background in archaeology, her work explores the intersections of body, memory, and trauma — questioning how personal and collective identities are physically embodied.
Driven by experimentation and visual discovery, she approaches art as a unified entity where movement, photography, and color converge.

Her research centers on movement-based storytelling and somatic liberation, treating life itself as an ongoing artistic act — a path that has led her to international residencies, including Mauritius, where she expanded her exploration of bodily presence through workshops and performance.

مؤدية وفنانة مصرية متعددة الاختصاصات، تمتد ممارستها بين الرقص المعاصر وصناعة الأفلام والتمثيل.

تنطلق بسانت السيد من خلفية في علم الآثار، لتستكشف في أعمالها تقاطعات الجسد والذاكرة والصدمات، متسائلةً كيف تتجسّد الهويات الفردية والجماعية ماديًا.

مدفوعة بروح التجربة والاكتشاف البصري، يصبح الفن في مقاربتها، فضاءً واحدًا تتقاطع فيه الحركة والصورة واللون.

ويرتكز بحثها على السرد القائم على الحركة والتحرّر الجسدي، معتبرةً الحياة فعلًا فنيًا متواصلًا ومسارا قادها إلى إقامات فنية دولية، من بينها موريشيوس، حيث وسّعت استكشافها لحضور الجسد عبر الورشات والعروض.

A leading female figure in the Tunisian underground scene since 2016, her magnetic presence has taken her to stages across Berlin, Paris, Bali, Beirut, and beyond.

An Egyptian writer and filmmaker working between memoir, film, and experimental storytelling.

His project My Father Doesn’t Smile explores masculinity through family memory, everyday rituals, and the long silences between men.

Alongside his writing, he has spent eight years working across arts and culture as a project manager, filmmaker, and film localization specialist — navigating the space between creative practice and cultural production.

يستكشف مشروعه "أبي لا يبتسم" مفاهيم الرجولة من خلال ذاكرة العائلة، والطقوس اليومية، والمساحات الصامتة الممتدة بين الرجال.

إلى جانب كتابته، أمضى الفنان ثماني سنوات في مجالات الفن والثقافة، كمدير مشاريع وصانع أفلام ومتخصص في توطين المحتوى السينمائي، متنقّلًا بين الممارسة الإبداعية والإنتاج الثقافي.
