The ‘Boneca’ is a rag doll born on the island of exile; a doll that crossed the sea and many borders to travel around the world. It is a magic place where precious objects of desire are born. It is a place where women find their space, their dignity and their economic independence. The ‘Boneca’ is a factory of shared knowledge: technical, human, relational, commercial; a knowledge of fulfilled dreams and dreams to fulfil. It is a place for women of any age. Elderly women bring prudence, experience, patience; younger ones bring joy, and desire for the future. It is a place where illiterate women find a space to learn; and where literate ones share their knowledge with the most. The ‘Boneca’ is a cooperative where the pride of earning a living with your own hand is nurtured. The ‘Boneca’ is a beacon for other Ataúro women, who wish to grow and work with dignity.

A “Boneca” é uma boneca de pano nascida na ilha do exílio, que atravessou o mar e muitas fronteiras para viajar por todo o mundo.
É um lugar mágico, onde nascem preciosos objectos de desejo.
É um lugar onde as mulheres encontram o seu espaço, a sua dignidade, a sua independência
económica.
É uma marca,actualmente muito conhecida. A “Boneca” é uma fábrica de conhecimentos partilhados: técnicos, humanos, de relação, de
comércio; conhecimento de sonhos cumpridos e sonhos por cumprir.
É um lugar para mulheres de qualquer idade. As mulheres mais velhas trazem prudência, experiência, paciência; as mais jovens trazem alegria e vontade de futuro.
É um lugar onde mulheres analfabetas encontram um espaço de aprendizagem; e onde as que têm escolaridade partilham o seu conhecimento com a maioria. A “Boneca” é uma cooperativa onde o orgulho de ganhar a vida com as próprias mãos é alimentado. A “Boneca” é um farol para outras mulheres de Ataúro, que querem crescer e trabalhar com dignidade.
