Aga Khan Humanities Project (AKHP) Debate Club in the English language has started functioning from the end of April 2012. The team meets every Saturday from 14:00 till 17:00 at the University of Central Asia in Dushanbe, with additional days working on drills (through social media pages including Facebook, Instagram, and Telegram), to prepare for the weekend debate sessions. The AKHP debate provi

des students with an opportunity to improve their arguing skills, better use of tolerance. Students in debate club tend to enjoy discussing current issues and if they don't already have a strong voice and good presentation skills, they are learning these abilities in a fun and safe club environment. Students also learn to create factual/logical, ethical and emotional arguments to persuade others in the club that their "side" is correct. Our main goals are:
• Teach students how to develop research, reasoning, organizational and essay writing skills
• Educate students about the art of speech and debate
• Train students to be more confident speakers and debaters
• Help students build leadership skills and improve individual responsibility
• Compete with other school debate teams
• Teach students to work collaboratively
• Help students to thrive academically and provide them with an advantage in their careers. The focus of the debate is economic, social and cultural issues and ways of addressing them.

This House Would Impose a 100% Tax on All Inherited Wealth Above £1 Million.

💡 Info Slide:
This motion explores whether governments should fully tax inherited wealth exceeding £1 million in order to reduce economic inequality and promote meritocracy. Participants will debate issues such as fairness, wealth redistribution, economic mobility, incentives for productivity, and the potential impact on families, businesses, and long-term economic growth. This House would replace traditional imprisonment with mandatory memory wiping and personality reconstruction for all serious crimes.

💡 Info Slide:
Assume that a technology exists that allows for the complete and permanent erasure of a person's memories and the reconstruction of their personality. This process is safe, irreversible, and creates a functional, law-abiding individual with no recollection of their past life or crimes.
