How does a site inform what we see and how does the field ask from where we see?
‘Monsoon School #2: Field as Method’ is an eight-day field-based programme in Chiang Mai and Chiang Khong, Thailand that explores how distance, scale and positionality shape what we observe, know and are able to act upon. Moving between community-generated knowledge, the Mekong’s socio-ecological transformations, and the spatial worlds of other species, participants will practice ways of understanding and engaging with the field across different scales while attending to what remains outside our field of vision!
Co-facilitated with Book Re:public, Warong Wonglangka, Wo-men Work, Chiang Khong Conservation Group and Uncle Muang Srisom, ‘Monsoon School #2: Field as Method’ invites practitioners to apply, from Thailand and across Southeast Asia to learn and reflect together. Ten participants will be selected.
