เครื่องสัก น้ำหมึก ตัวตน โดย Borantattoo studio
นิทรรศการเปิดพื้นที่ให้มอง “งานสัก” ลึกไปกว่าผิวหนัง ด้วยความตั้งใจจาก BORANTATTOOSTUDIO และกลุ่มช่างสักในเมืองเก่าสงขลา ที่เชื่อว่างานสักคือศิลปะที่ฝังอยู่ในวัฒนธรรมและตัวตนของผู้สร้าง นิทรรศการนี้นำเสนอผลงานของช่างสักจากหลากหลายภูมิภาค ผ่านสองรูปแบบ งานสักที่เคยปรากฏบนร่างกาย และผลงานศิลปะบนพื้นผิวอื่นอย่างผ้าใบหรือกระดาษ เพื่อสะท้อนเสรีและข้อจำกัดของแต่ละสื่อ ในขณะที่รอยสักบางลายไม่อาจถ่ายทอดบนกระดาษได้ งานศิลปะบางชิ้นก็ไม่อาจเกิดขึ้นบนผิวหนังได้เช่นกัน แต่เมื่อทั้งสองอยู่ร่วมกัน จึงกลายเป็นบทสนทนาระหว่างศิลปะกับตัวตนของศิลปิน โดยเนื้อแท้แล้ว ช่างสักในงานนี้ไม่เพียงใช้เข็ม แต่ยังใช้หมึกเป็นเครื่องมือเล่าเรื่องราวชีวิต ถ่ายทอดวัฒนธรรม อารมณ์ และจิตวิญญาณอย่างจริงใจ เพื่อให้ผู้ชมเข้าใจศิลปะการสักในมิติที่ลึกและมนุษย์มากขึ้น

Machine, Ink, Identity

This exhibition, titled "Machine, Ink, Identity," is an effort by Borantattoo Studio and a group of tattoo artists from Songkhla's old town to encourage a deeper look at "tattoo art" beyond the skin. They believe that tattooing is an art form embedded in both culture and the artist’s identity.

The exhibition features work from tattoo artists across different regions in two forms: tattoos that have been applied to bodies and artwork created on other surfaces like canvas or paper. This dual presentation highlights the freedom and limitations of each medium. While some tattoo designs can't be translated onto paper, some art pieces can't exist on skin. When brought together, they become a dialogue between the art and the artist's identity.

At their core, the tattoo artists in this exhibition don't just use needles; they use ink as a tool to tell life stories, sincerely conveying culture, emotion, and spirit. The goal is for viewers to understand the art of tattooing in a deeper, more human dimension.
