Studio 88 invites analog film photographers and darkroom enthusiasts to join the upcoming workshop, “Framing Identity: Analog Photography & Darkroom Practice,” on 2–3 May 2026.

This hands-on workshop offers a complete introduction to 35mm film photography, guiding participants through every stage of the analog process—from loading a camera to producing their own prints. Led by a professional art educator and practicing artist specializing in analog techniques, the workshop is designed for all experience levels. Complete beginners are welcome to learn how to load and shoot their first roll of film, while those with already exposed rolls can join to explore developing and darkroom printing.

Across two days, participants will engage with the theme of “Identities,” using photography as a tool for personal and creative expression. The first day focuses on shooting and film development, while the second day is dedicated to darkroom printing.

Selected works may be included in a concurrent “Evolving Identities” exhibition, offering participants an opportunity to share their perspectives with a wider audience.

We’re excited to warmly welcome Tatsuhiro Kurafuji to Studio 88 Artist Residency this April–May 2026 ✨🌿

T. Kurafuji is a Japanese artist, Singapore based, whose practice moves between myth, ecology, and material imagination—reviving local histories through a deep, poetic dialogue with nature. With a background that spans from brand direction to field-based artistic research, his work listens closely to landscapes as living entities that breathe, remember, and transform.

During his time with us, T. Kurafuji will be developing “Listening to the Spirit of the Land — Animistic Voiceprints as Regenerative Sculpture.” Through recording the subtle sounds of Doi Saket—water, wind, insects, and he will translate these “voiceprints” into sculptural forms that feel as if they are grown rather than made.

We’re looking forward to seeing how Taz Kurafuji research unfolds and how the unseen energies of the land take shape through his work.

Apply now if you want to be part of our artistic community.
