Hikaru (Hokkaido) is a revolutionary acoustic guitarist who turns one guitar into an orchestra: percussion, slap bass, tapping, and global tones from India, Spain, Africa, and the Caribbean. His music has appeared in Nissan commercials, SEGA’s Sonic and the Black Knight, and the official hide (X JAPAN) tribute album. A Top 20 Japanese Guitarist (Swing Journal 2010), he’s toured Fuji Rock, Music China, NAMM, and Thai festivals.

Nana, based on Miyako Island, Okinawa, brings the soul of the sanshin into the modern age. Blending ancient island melodies with club music, DJ collabs, and world fusion, her original song “Urizun” captures Okinawa’s spirit through rich vocals and self-written lyrics.

Réjizz is a Bangkok-born rapper, singer, and producer. He has carved out a distinct lane with his signature Thai-Funk sound—a blend of jazz phrasing, deep soul textures, and Mo-Lam rhythms woven into modern hip-hop and R&B. Moving fluidly between Thai and English, his music is grounded in local storytelling, yet resonates far beyond borders.

Crowned Thailand’s Hip-Hop Artist of the Year in 2025, Réjizz transforms traditional influences into immersive, groove-driven performances. As the first Thai artist signed to Marshall Records, he represents a new chapter for Thailand’s independent music scene on the international stage.

Coming from our North Gate intern, Sammy Carp, a DJ from Philadelphia, one of his favorite parts of North Gate’s International Jazz Weekend was the diversity of the music across each day.

“Every set brought something different, one band would be a traditional big band, and the next shifted into something like Latin jazz fusion. That constant change in style throughout the weekend felt like a reflection of what International Jazz day was all about, celebrating the global unity and variety of the genre. The way North Gate presented so many different styles all weekend long really displayed the beauty of jazz and the freedom and sense of community that comes with the music”.

He was also given the opportunity to step into the role of MC for the weekend, which was something completely new and fun for him. Overall, he’s thankful to have been part of such a special weekend and the North Gate team, and hopes to see everyone again next year.

Iseul Kim is a composer, pianist, and bandleader blending Korean traditional music with jazz and contemporary classical forms. A two-time Korean Music Awards nominee (2024, 2025), she leads projects including Liberosis and Two Voices, has collaborated with Sandbox Percussion, and tours internationally with support from NYFA, Arts Council Korea, and the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture.
