"You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring" - Isaiah 58:11 /
When I was in secondary school, I had a really bad experience with art, especially acrylic paint. Once we had to paint something on a square canvas and there was hardly any guidance. In my head, I had a nice picture of what I wanted to paint. But in reality, it turned out to be a really ugly painting of Singapore Changi Airport. So bad that I got rid of it ASAP. Since then I had stayed away from acrylic; I felt that it's a medium that was too difficult for me.
Recently I chanced upon the most beautiful and affordable set of pastel acrylics. I held back because I was afraid of acrylic... But my dear husband, a firm advocate of breaking new grounds encouraged me to try again. Then someone was selling canvas for cheap. The pieces fell together for me to take a step of faith again.
So this is my first acrylic painting in 12 years, dedicated to for always pushing me forward to try (or retry) new things and believing that I can do it. And also for being my hand model 😎
Fun fact: all the plants featured in this painting are those that he is growing at home 🌱 with patience, we will see the fruit!
