ณ e x t a n t a t i o n เราถามว่า: ทำอย่างไรเราที่จะไม่โฟกัสบนการใคร่ครวญ ทว่าเป็นการตอบสนองทางศิลปะในทางที่เป็นไปได้ต่อ ลัทธิล่าอาณานิคมใหม่ เสรีนิยมใหม่ และพลวัตระหว่างส่วนตัวและสาธารณะในยุคทุนนิยม? กระบวนการ่ทางศิลปะที่พยายามใช้กลยุทธ์เพื่อจะจัดวางความไม่สมดุลย์ทางโครงสร้างใหม่ ก่อภูมิศาสตร์ทางเลือก และสร้างเรื่องเล่าใหม่ในรอยแยก แม้ว่าจะเป็นเพียงชั่วขณะก็ตาม? ณ รอยประทุตามพื้นที่คาบเกี่ยว อะไรบ้างที่ดำรงอยู่ระหว่าง พื้นที่ของดิสโทเปียร่วมสมัย?

ฮุง ซู นี สำรวจความสัมพันธ์สองทางที่ก่อตัวระหว่างแสงและเสียง องค์ประกอบแต่ละอย่างถูกสร้างและโอบรับในพื้นที่หนึ่ง แสงถูกกระตุ้นโดยปริซึ่มคริสตอลและมอร์เตอร์ สร้างพื้นที่ด้วยแสงที่แตกกระจาย บางครั้งดูคล้ายแสงสายรุ้ง และแสงสะท้อนที่เลาะตามเส้นขอบของพื้นที่

At e x t a n t a t i o n we ask: how do we focus not on the multitudinous ruminations but instead on what might be some possible artistic responses to neo-colonialism, neo-liberalism, the new dynamic between the private|public in late capitalism? What strategies can artistic processes employ in attempting to displace the structural imbalances, plot alternative geographies, and create new narratives in the crevices of systemic fissures, even if only momentarily? Interstices within liminal spaces, what can exist in-between the in-betweens of our contemporary dystopia?
]extantatinginterstices[ is an attempt at creating a critical incubation space for performance-based artists to come together at e x t a n t a t i o n to collectively meditate on the above questions through dialogue, improvisation and reflection focusing on auto-reflexive processes and not outcomes, a process in constant re-evaluation of itself.
e x t a n t a t i o n is uniquely positioned on the margins of the city or the countryside, depending from where you are looking, where urbanism meets the bucolical and where the un-rural population dissolves into the rural. A reflexive space where artists are given the opportunity to be completely immersed in this immediate reality, with the chance to contemplate on the situational context within and without. Regarding that, extantation does not seek the appropriation or usage of this phenomenon, instead it intends to provide a creative fissure where what is generated is wanted and not neglected, where layers of constant in-betweenness defines and is it’s own locality.
For ]extantatinginterstices[ , we are inviting the Taiwanese artist Hung Tzu Ni to e x t a n t a t i o n for developing a site-specific sound-based, installation with live performance.

About the Artist
Hung Tzu Ni explores the reciprocal relationship formed between light and sound. As each element is respectively constructed and embodied in a given space. An analog light sequencer is triggered by a crystal prism and step motor, structuring the space with refracted light, the occasional appearance of rainbow-colored light, and the reflections that trace an orbit around the contours of the space.
In her performances+installations, Tzu Ni explores how light and sound react and respond to each other, as well as how they can mutually engage with one another within a space. She pursues this direction in the hopes of redefining the landscape of audio+visual creation and expanding the possibilities of interactive audio+visual environments.
