Sometimes an artwork grows on you. It takes different meaning with each layer. This commissioned artwork has been in my mind since completion last year. It was a very different experience for me. It made me break out of my usual palette and try something fresh and new. As part of my small effort to give back to community the full proceeds for this one were donated to touch community in Singapore to support them in their endeavours.

Unsteady it so sounds, but that’s how life is about - skimming the thin boundaries that define the good and the bad, the beautiful and the ugly. The truth is not always just the absolute truth but there’s that flutter between the elements of belief, faith and facts! That in essence is the meaning of my painting titled flutter. It has found a new abode with a lovely patron. Full proceeds of this have been donated to touch community services in Singapore to support them in their difficult but very important charity work.

Delighted to share that my painting ‘Liberation’ has found a new loving home. The full proceeds of the painting have been donated to Whampoa Family services. WFS operates from Block 78A Lorong Limau and serves the residents within the key areas of Whampo, Balestier and Novena . Many a times we come across situations where our fairly extensive vocabulary fails to produce words that can capture our emotions. Now imagine yourself to be a child who is going through an array of emotions that you are not able to fully express in words.

I recently had the chance to volunteer with Whampoa Community services. I shared with the kids about how they could use art as a tool to express their emotions. It was a very interactive workshop. What made it very fulfilling was the feedback that I received from a mother that her kid who is not expressive also expressed his thoughts with the emotional wheel.

My little munchkins also made the wheel and as a mother I learnt more about their complex emotions.
