MOOD BOARD OF OCTOBER
Mood board of October featuring a collection of things inspiring us this season, from textures and colors to tiny creatures and everything that feels like Halloween.
If you are curious about the origins, Halloween goes back over two thousand years to an ancient Celtic festival called Samhain, which marked the end of the harvest and the shift from summer to winter.
Back then, people believed the boundary between the living and the dead blurred on the night of October 31, so they lit fires and wore disguises to celebrate. Over time, these traditions blended with Christian observances for All Saintsâ Day, with the evening before becoming known as All Hallowsâ Eve, or Halloween.
The celebration eventually spread to North America, turning into the modern holiday we know today with costumes, pumpkins, and parties. From ancient harvest fires to todayâs pumpkin lanterns, Halloween has a history of more than 2,000 years!
