Chiang Mai, Thailand KTV Scam Warning
(Shop Name: TOP MODEL)
Last week, my friends and I (4 people) went to The Phoenix CNX for drinks. After about 2 hours, 3 local Thai girls came over and chatted with us. One of them suggested we go to another bar with a private room, saying Phoenix was boring. We agreed and followed them to a place called TOP MODEL (see photo).
At first, the mamasan told us a bucket of beer was 1,500 baht with no extra charges. But just 5 minutes later, they brought us a bill for 12,000 baht. When we refused to pay, 7 Thai men suddenly showed up, threatened us, and said we couldn’t leave unless we paid. They warned us we would be beaten if we didn’t.
We were forced to pay 7,000 baht for just 5 buckets of beer. This is a scam — please be careful!
Important Reminders:
1. If a local Thai girl invites you to another bar, ask for the shop name and check reviews first.
2. Avoid following recommendations from tuk-tuk drivers.
3. Always check Google reviews or other sources before entering any bar.

清迈泰国KTV诈骗警告

上周，我和三个朋友（共4人）一起去 The Phoenix CNX 喝酒。大约两个小时后，有三位当地泰国女生走过来和我们聊天，其中一位说这家店很无聊，建议我们去另一家有包厢的酒吧。我们同意后，就跟着她们去了一个叫 TOP MODEL 的地方（见图）。
一开始，妈妈桑告诉我们一桶啤酒是1,500泰铢，没有其他费用。但仅仅过了5分钟，他们就拿来一张12,000泰铢的账单。当我们拒绝付款时，突然来了7个当地泰国男子，对我们进行威胁，说不付钱就不能离开，还说如果不付钱就会被打。
最后，我们被迫支付了7,000泰铢，只为了5桶啤酒。这完全是一个骗局 — 请大家务必小心！
重要提醒：
1. 如果有当地泰国女生邀请你去别的酒吧，先问清楚店名并上网查看评价。
2. 不要轻信tuk tuk司机介绍的酒吧。
3. 进酒吧前请先查Google评论或其他平台的评价。
