At Mosaic Market, the makers come first. The pieces on our shelves come from artisans in Chiang Mai and across Asia, many of them building steady work and a livelihood of their own. What you carry home carries that with it.

Most of what we own arrives without a trace of the person who made it. A small label stitched inside a bag is one way of saying someone was here, and was paid fairly for the work.

Thrive Ethical Fashion is a fair-wage workshop in Chiang Mai, run as a freedom business. Every piece carries that intention, from the first cut to the last stitch.

The coffee at Mosaic Café is Mosaic Brew, shade-grown and hand-picked by Akha farming families in the northern highlands, then roasted in small batches in the city.

Sunday is the one day the doors stay closed, and the quiet suits it. The week gathers itself for Monday.

Mosaic Market opens again tomorrow. Mosaic Café will be pouring Mosaic Brew, grown by Akha farming families in the northern highlands and roasted in small batches in Chiang Mai, and the work of ethical makers will be waiting to be found.

Nothing in a shop arrives on its own. A cup of coffee comes from an Akha farming family in the northern highlands. A tote is sewn by a woman at the Thrive workshop, here in Chiang Mai. A pot of skincare, a woven bag, a small gift each began in the hands of a maker we can name.

When something is bought here, the maker is paid a fair price. Our own businesses employ and train women in safe, structured workplaces. Proceeds help fund care, prevention and awareness work across the region.

One purchase, passed along through many hands. Come by Mosaic Market and choose something small.

A price tag tells you very little. It shows what something cost, and almost nothing about who carried that cost.

Three plain questions go further: who made this, how were they paid, and what is it made from. A shop that can answer all three has done most of the work, and the answers are easier to find than most visitors expect. Coffee grown by Akha farming families in the highlands. Clothing sewn in a fair-wage workshop here in Chiang Mai. Makers named on the shelf, not hidden behind a phrase like “handmade in Thailand.”
