Congratulations to Wantanee ​Siripattananuntakul on receiving the prestigious ‘Silpathorn Awards 2026’ for Distinguished Contemporary Artist in Visual Arts, as part of the 2026 Silpathorn Award program honoring outstanding contemporary artists.

Wantanee ​Siripattananuntakul lives and works in Bangkok, Thailand. Her artworks take a critical view on social, political, economic and cultural issues. Each project often consists of different media such as sculptures, sound, videos and interactive installations, grouped around specific themes and messages. Although there may not always be material similarities between different projects, they are linked by recurring themes and genuine concerns on the subject matter.
 
Wantanee Siripattananuntakul is recognized for exploring the potential of works of art to raise many social questions and to increase awareness of social issues. In 2007, she was chosen to be the representative of Thai artists to join the 53rd Venice Biennale and she is one of 13 Thai emerging artists who were chosen by Bangkok collectors in 2016. Most of her renowned past works are in the forms of video art, sculptures, and installations based on the utilization of many new forms of media. They include Wantanocchiobot’09 (2009); (Dis)continuity (2012); Living with un Common Value (2012); Dynamic convergences: sociology and art (2014); State of Ridiculous (2015), Human AlieNation (2016), Play in the Flow (2017) and The Broken Ladder (2018).

Som Supaparinya (Som Supaparinya) will present a solo exhibition in Scandinavia at Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen, Denmark

The exhibition Reroute: at Kunsthal Charlottenborg brings together, for the first time, two video installations that critically examine the complex evolution of Thailand’s role within the social and political power structures of Southeast Asia and how this is globally connected.

Melted Stars (2026) uncovers the repressed memory of the country’s involvement in Japan’s military operations during World War II, while Mo num en ts (2025) investigates the enduring consequences of Thailand’s exploitative alliance with the United States during the Cold War era.

Reroute: explores infrastructure as both a material and symbolic form of power, from military routes and railways to dams and monumental construction projects. Supaparinya explores how these structures have shaped ecological and social landscapes, questioning the relationship between national myths, environmental exploitation, and power over collective memory.

Reroute: is curated by Natalie Keppler in collaboration with Kunsthal Charlottenborg.

‘ส้ม ศุภปริญญา’ เตรียมเปิดนิทรรศการเดี่ยวครั้งแรกในสแกนดิเนเวีย พาผลงานสำรวจประวัติศาสตร์และภูมิทัศน์การเมืองไทยสู่โคเปนเฮเกน
ศิลปินไทย ‘ส้ม ศุภปริญญา’ เตรียมนำเสนอ Reroute: นิทรรศการเดี่ยวครั้งแรกในภูมิภาคสแกนดิเนเวีย ณ Kunsthal Charlottenborg กรุงโคเปนเฮเกน ประเทศเดนมาร์ก ระหว่างวันที่ 26 กันยายน 2026 ถึง 21 กุมภาพันธ์ 2027
นิทรรศการครั้งนี้รวบรวมวิดีโอจัดวาง 2 ผลงานล่าสุดที่ชวนสำรวจว่า ‘โครงสร้างพื้นฐาน พันธมิตรทางการเมือง และเรื่องเล่าทางประวัติศาสตร์’ มีส่วนกำหนดภูมิทัศน์และภาพของประเทศไทยอย่างไร ผ่านการมองย้อนกลับไปยังเหตุการณ์และความสัมพันธ์ทางการเมืองที่ยังส่งผลต่อสังคมในปัจจุบัน
หนึ่งในผลงานคือ Melted Stars (2026) ที่ย้อนสำรวจความทรงจำที่ถูกกดทับเกี่ยวกับบทบาทของไทยต่อปฏิบัติการทางทหารของญี่ปุ่นในช่วงสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 โดยศุภปริญญาใช้ข้อมูลจากการลงพื้นที่ การสัมภาษณ์ เอกสารทางประวัติศาสตร์ และภาพฟุตเทจที่เก็บสะสมต่อเนื่องตลอดหลายปี มาประกอบกันเป็นเรื่องเล่าที่เผยให้เห็นร่องรอยของอดีตซึ่งยังคงหลงเหลืออยู่ในภูมิทัศน์
อีกหนึ่งผลงานคือ Mo num en ts (2025) ซึ่งพิจารณาผลกระทบทางการเมืองและสิ่งแวดล้อมจากความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างไทยกับสหรัฐอเมริกาในช่วงสงครามเย็น ตั้งแต่โครงสร้างพื้นฐานไปจนถึงการเปลี่ยนแปลงของพื้นที่ที่เกิดขึ้นภายใต้บริบทของพันธมิตรทางการเมือง
เมื่อวางสองผลงานไว้ร่วมกัน ถนน ทางรถไฟ เขื่อน สะพาน และอนุสาวรีย์ จึงไม่ได้ปรากฏในฐานะเพียงสิ่งปลูกสร้าง หากยังทำหน้าที่เป็นหลักฐานของอำนาจทางการเมือง และสะท้อนแนวคิดเรื่อง ‘ความก้าวหน้าของชาติ’ ที่ถูกสร้างขึ้นผ่านเรื่องเล่าและผลประโยชน์ที่แตกต่างกัน
ส้ม ศุภปริญญา เกิดในปี 1973 เติบโตที่จังหวัดลำพูน และปัจจุบันพำนักและทำงานอยู่ที่เชียงใหม่ เธอศึกษาศิลปกรรมศาสตร์จากมหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ ก่อนศึกษาต่อด้านมีเดียอาร์ตที่ Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig ประเทศเยอรมนี ผลงานของเธอมีลักษณะเป็นงานศิลปะเชิงสารคดีที่ผสานการค้นคว้าเข้ากับภาพเคลื่อนไหว และเคยจัดแสดงในเวทีศิลปะนานาชาติ อาทิ Documenta 15, Thailand Biennale และ Gwangju Biennale
นิทรรศการ Reroute: จัดทำโดยภัณฑารักษ์ Natalie Keppler โดย Kunsthal Charlottenborg จะจัดงานเปิดฤดูกาลในวันที่ 25 กันยายน เวลา 17.00–22.00 น. ก่อนเปิดให้สาธารณชนเข้าชม Reroute: ตั้งแต่วันที่ 26 กันยายน 2026 เป็นต้นไป

Thavika Savangwongsakul × Coach Play Siam Square

Presented throughout Coach Play Siam Square, Oh that’s not- Um.. yeah. (2026) and IN THE SENSE THAT! (2026) by Thavika Savangwongsakul explore the perspectives and experiences of Gen Z, particularly their desire to express identity, individuality, and ideas within contemporary society.

Through playful gestures and layered visual language, Thavika explores the nuances of self-expression, reflecting a generation navigating the desire to communicate who they are while finding the language and space to fully express themselves.

As part of the wider artistic programme at Coach Play Siam Square, bespoke works by Thai artists Vacharapong Buranakitjaroen (HelloVachBoy), Phaan Chanaradee Chatrakul Na Ayudhya (Juli Baker and Summer), and Thavika Savangwongsakul are integrated throughout the space, bringing together distinct perspectives on contemporary Thai culture, individuality, and self-expression.

Coach Play Siam Square brings the brand’s design language into conversation with the energy of Bangkok, creating a space for discovery, connection, and self-expression.

โลกกำลังเดือด แต่ทำไมเรายังเฉย?
มองแนวคิด “โจ้-เรืองศักดิ์ อนุวัตรวิมล” เมื่อความจริงสีเทาปะทะศิลปะสีเขียว เพื่อปลุกโลกที่กำลังหลับใหล
ไม่ขอออกตัวว่าอยู่ในฐานะ “ศิลปิน” หากขอใช้พื้นที่ในบริบทแวดวงศิลปะ สะท้อนมุมมองด้านสิ่งแวดล้อม ศิลปะ วิทยาศาสตร์ และธรรมชาติวิทยา ในฐานะ “คนเก็บของเก่า” ผ่านชิ้นงาน Conceptual art ด้วยการเก็บสะสม “ชิ้นส่วนสำคัญในเหตุการณ์สำคัญ” ทางธรรมชาติมาสร้างสรรค์และกระตุ้นการเปลี่ยนแปลง

“ศิลปิน คือ คนที่ผลิตหรือสร้างสรรค์อะไรบางอย่าง แล้วชักนำอะไรสังคมได้ ส่วนผมแค่ชอบเก็บของต่างๆ ที่เป็นวัตถุพยาน และมาจัดแสดงในพื้นที่งานศิลปะ เหล่านี้จึงกลายเป็นงานศิลปะโดยปริยาย เช่น เหตุการณ์น้ำท่วมปี 54 ผมเก็บน้ำที่ท่วมจริงจาก 5 พื้นที่ มาใส่ในหลดอแก้วสวยๆ แล้วจัดแสดง สิ่งนี้คือชิ้นงานประจักษ์พยาน ณ ช่วงเวลานั้นๆ”
มากกว่าชิ้นส่วน แต่คือสตอรี่
เป้าประสงค์ของการเก็บรวบรวมหลักฐานสำคัญ เป็นร้อย เป็นพันชิ้น ตลอดหลายสิบปี คือการสร้างการตระหนักรู้ว่า...กราฟชีวิตของโลกทุกวันนี้กำลังดิ่งหัวลง
แต่การสร้างการตระหนังรู้...ก็ไม่ง่าย เมื่อต้องเผชิญกับ mindset คนส่วนใหญ่ที่บอกว่า “สิ่งแวดล้อมเป็นเรื่องไกลตัว” ที่หยิบยกมาพูดถึงเพียงเพื่อให้ดูสวยงามในเวทีเสวนา แล้วอะไรคือเหตุผลที่ทำให้พี่โจ้ยังสู้เรื่องนี้ต่อ?
ศิลปินคอนเซ็ปชวลเจนวายต้นๆ มองเป็นเรื่องการเพิกเฉยเชิงข้อมูลมากกว่า วิกฤตสภาพภูมิอากาศที่เราเจอไม่ใช่เรื่องของอนาคต แต่เป็นสัญญาณเตือนภัยจากธรรมชาติที่ชัดเจน ทั้งคลื่นความร้อนที่รุนแรง พายุที่ทวีความโหดร้าย และภัยแล้งที่ยาวนาน หากต้นตอสำคัญคือ “ชุดข้อมูล” ที่พวกเขารับรู้มันถูกต้องและรอบด้านพอที่จะทำให้พวกเขาตระหนักได้ว่า ภัยมาถึงตัวแล้วจริงๆ หรือไม่มากกว่า
ความย้อนแย้งนี้กลายเป็นโจทย์ใหญ่ที่เขาและคนทำงานศิลปะทั่วโลก กำลังพยายามใช้ความคิดสร้างสรรค์เพื่อทลายกำแพงความเฉยชา
“ผมเคยเชื่อว่าอนาคตต้องดีกว่านี้ ผมเรียนมาในสายวิทยาศาสตร์และศิละปะ ซึ่งตอนนี้มันก็ดีขึ้นนะ เทคโนโลยีมันดีขึ้น แต่สิ่งที่ตามมาด้วยคือภาพแห่งโลกดิสโทเปียหรือหายนะ ตอนนี้เราเห็นภาพจำลองในอนาคตอันใกล้แบบนั้น แล้วผมมีไอยากให้เกิดขึ้น”
“สิ่งแวดล้อมไม่ใช่เรื่องเล่นๆ แต่เป็นเรื่องที่ต้องจริงจังมากๆ และมันอยู่บนเครื่องบ่งชี้วัดหลายๆ อย่าง ที่เราเห็นรอบตัวชัดมากๆ นักวิจัยก็ทำงานมาหนักมากๆ แต่จะทำยังไงให้ข้อมูลพวกนี้ไปถึงการรับรู้ของคนให้ได้มากที่สุด คุณเห็นลำน้ำฟองฟอดผุดมาเรื่อยๆ คุณเห็นปลาตาย แม้คุณบอกว่ามันไม่ได้เกิดกับฉัน แต่ซักวันมันจะไปถึงตัวคุณ”
“ที่บอกว่าไกลตัวน่ะ มันไกลขนาดไหนล่ะ? ถ้ามันอยู่ที่หน้าบ้านแต่ยังไม่เข้าไปในบ้าน เรียกว่าไกลมั้ย เพราะจริงๆ มันไม่ได้ไกล แต่เราไม่รู้ต่างหากว่า... มันมาถึงแล้ว มันไม่ได้ไกลแบบที่คิด”
สำหรับ โจ้ เรืองศักดิ์ จุดเริ่มต้นของการจุดประกายที่ได้ผลจึงอยู่ที่ “ทำให้ผู้คนในสังคมมองเห็นว่ามันใกล้ และเป็นเรื่องของเขาเอง” เมื่อไหร่ที่ตระหนักได้ การขยับตัวอย่างจริงจังเพื่อความอยู่รอดจะตามมาโดยอัตโนมัติ ซึ่งเขามองว่าเรื่องนี้เชื่อมโยงประเด็นการเมืองโดยแท้ ทั้งเชิงกลไกและโครงสร้าง ที่ภาครัฐต้องมีส่วนร่วมขับเคลื่อน
“ว่ากันตามตรง เราพยายามแต่เราก็เป็นเพียงผู้บริโภค ถ้าพูดถึงหน่วยงาน สิ้นหวังว่ะ เขาไม่ต้องการให้เราเอ๊ะ หรือตั้งคำถาม เขาคิดว่าเขาอยู่จนมันพังทลายต่อหน้าต่อตา ยกตัวอย่างเหตุการณ์น้ำท่วมที่บอกเอาอยู่ๆ สุดท้ายจบที่อพยพ แต่ที่ร้ายแรงกว่าน้ำ คือเรื่องสารพิษปัจจุบัน มันไปถึงจุดที่อพยพไม่ได้แล้ว ถ้ามันซึมเข้าไปในเนื้อเยื่อคุณน่ะสิ”

หากท้ายที่สุด พี่โจ้เชื่อว่าแทนที่จะขู่ให้คนกลัวด้วยภาพวันสิ้นโลก คนทำงานศิลปะยุคใหม่ก็พยายามเลือกที่จะสื่อสารด้วย "ความหวัง" แสดงให้เห็นภาพของโลกที่งดงามขึ้นหากเราทุกคนร่วมมือกัน เปลี่ยนความหดหู่ให้กลายเป็นแรงบันดาลใจในการลงมือทำ และสร้างความตระหนักว่า ไม่มีใครเล็กเกินกว่าจะสร้างความเปลี่ยนแปลง
“ผมเชื่อว่าการประคับประคองสังคมมันเกิดขึ้นอยู่ตลอด ไม่ว่าในเชิงจิตวิทยา สังคม หรือกฎหมาย เรายังมีความหวังอยู่ แต่เราจะเห็นสิ่งเดียวกับมั้ย จริงๆ มันมีคนรู้ว่าเรื่องนี้จะออกทางไหน แต่มันยังเชื่อมต่อกันไม่ได้ สำคัญคือใครล่ะ จะเป็นโต้โผทำให้สิ่งเหล่านั้นเกิดขึ้น นั่นคือความหวัง ว่าทำยังไงต่อ วิธีการแก้ไขคือการเชื่อมโยง”
“เราจะหาใครที่มาเชื่อมโยง และจุดประกายเรื่องนี้ต่อ มันคงต้องเป็นเด็กรุ่นใหม่ที่มีความคิดสดมากๆ พูดภาษาเดียวกัน เห็นเป้าหมายเดียวกัน และที่สำคัญ ต้องเจ็บปวดในเรื่องเดียวกัน เพราะถ้าเรายังรู้สึกเจ็บปวดอยู่ เราจะรู้ได้เองว่า...คนอื่นก็เจ็บปวดเรื่องนี้ไม่ต่างกัน”

จากคำถามถึงวิวัฒนาการของความเชื่อของมนุษย์ และความเป็นไปได้ที่เราจะประกอบสร้างความเชื่อขึ้นใหม่ผ่านวัตถุ สิ่งของ และประสบการณ์ แกลเลอรี่เว่อร์ขอเชิญผู้ชมเข้าร่วมกิจกรรม Evolution of Belief - Workshop and Walk Through with the Artist and Curator ภายใต้นิทรรศการ Unus Mundus

นิทรรศการ Unus Mundus โดยสองศิลปินหญิง มิยาบิ และ มุกมินต์ตรา จริยวิทยานนท์ สำรวจความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างร่างกายมนุษย์ จิตวิญญาณ สรรพสัตว์ ธรรมชาติ สิ่งแวดล้อม และวัตถุสิ่งของที่ผูกพันกับชีวิต ผ่านการสร้างความหมายและสัญลักษณ์ในมุมมองเฉพาะตัวของศิลปิน ทั้งสองชวนเรามองโลกผ่านพื้นที่ของจินตนาการ และตั้งคำถามต่อสภาวะการดำรงอยู่ของมนุษย์ในโลกปัจจุบัน รวมถึงความเป็นไปได้ที่ความเชื่อและความศรัทธาจะเคลื่อนไปสู่รูปแบบใหม่ ๆ

ในกิจกรรมครั้งนี้ ผู้เข้าร่วมจะได้ใช้เวลาร่วมกับศิลปินและภัณฑารักษ์ในการเดินชมนิทรรศการ พร้อมวาดรูปสร้างสรรค์งานศิลปะ ไปจนถึงการร่วมวงเสวนา ที่จะต่อยอดรูปร่างของความเชื่อให้เกิดเอกภาพและวิวัฒนาการที่ไม่มีจุดสิ้นสุด

How do our beliefs come into being, and how far can they evolve and change?

From questions surrounding the origins and evolution of human belief to the possibility of constructing new forms of belief through objects, materials, and personal experiences, Gallery VER invites you to join Evolution of Belief - Workshop and Walk Through with the Artist and Curator, as part of the exhibition Unus Mundus.

The exhibition Unus Mundus by artists MIYABI and Mookmintra Jariyavidyanont explores the relationships between the human body, the spirit, other living beings, nature, the environment, and objects that are intertwined with our lives. Through the creation of meanings and symbols from their distinct perspectives, the artists invite us to perceive the world through the realm of imagination and to question the human condition in the contemporary world, as well as the possibility of belief and faith evolving into new forms.

During the activity, participants will spend time with the artists and curator for a guided walk-through of the exhibition, followed by a creative drawing and art-making session and an open discussion. Through these activities, participants will be invited to reflect on the ways beliefs are formed, shaped, and transformed, while exploring how personal experiences, objects, and imagination can contribute to the construction of new meanings.
