အနေဖြင့် ဒီမိုကရေစီနည်းကျ ရွေးကောက်ခံ ေါင်းဆောင် ဒေါ်အောင်ဆန်းစုကြည် နှင့် တွေ့ဆုံခဲ့ခြင်းကို အရေးပါသော လူသားချင်းစာနာမှုဆိုင်ရာ ခြေလှမ်းတစ်ခုအဖြစ် ကြိုဆိုပါသည်။ အလွန်ခက်ခဲသော အခြေအနေများကြားမှ ICRC ၏ ဆက်လက်ကြိုးပမ်းဆောင်ရွက်မှုကို ဂုဏ်ပြုကြိုဆိုပါသည်။ သို့သော်လည်း လူသားချင်းစာနာမှုဆိုင်ရာ ထောက်ပံ့ကူညီခွင့် တစ်ခုတည်းဖြင့် တရားမျှတမှုကို အစားထိုး၍ မရနိုင်ပါ။ ဒေါ်အောင်ဆန်းစုကြည်နှင့်တကွ နိုင်ငံရေးအကျဉ်းသား အားလုံးကို ခြွင်းချက်မရှိ ချက်ချင်း ပြန်လွှတ်ပေးရမည်။
ပြည်ပြည်ဆိုင်ရာ အသိုင်းအဝိုင်း အထူးသဖြင့် အာဆီယံအနေဖြင့် စစ်တပ်က ဖန်တီးထားသည့် အကျပ်အတည်းကို အဆုံးသတ်ရန်နှင့် မြန်မာပြည်သူတို့၏ တရားဝင် မျှော်မှန်းချက်များဖြစ်သည့် ငြိမ်းချမ်းရေး၊ ဖက်ဒရယ်ဒီမိုကရေစီ၊ လူ့အခွင့်အရေး၊ တရားဥပဒေစိုးမိုးရေးတို့အပေါ် အခြေခံသည့် အနာဂတ်ကို တည်ဆောက်ရန် ညီညွတ်စွာ ခိုင်ခိုင်မာမာ ဆက်လက် ရပ်တည်ပေးရမည်။ မြန်မာပြည်သူများသည် ကြောက်ရွံ့မှု၊ အကြမ်းဖက်မှုနှင့် ဖိနှိပ်ချုပ်ချယ်မှုတို့မှ ကင်းဝေးပြီး ငြိမ်းချမ်းရေး၊ ဖက်ဒရယ်ဒီမိုကရေစီ၊ လူ့အခွင့်အရေးနှင့် တရားဥပဒေစိုးမိုးရေး တို့အပေါ် အခြေခံသည့် အနာဂတ်နှင့်ထိုက်တန်သူများ ဖြစ်သည်။

The ICRC's meeting with Myanmar's democratically elected leader, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, is a welcome and important humanitarian step. I commend the ICRC for its continued engagement under extremely difficult circumstances. However, humanitarian access alone cannot substitute for justice. Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and all political prisoners must be released immediately and unconditionally. The international community, especially ASEAN, must remain united and steadfast in supporting the people of Myanmar and their legitimate aspirations to end the military-created crisis and build a future founded on peace, federal democracy, human rights, and the rule of law. The people of Myanmar deserve a peaceful, federal democratic future free from fear, violence, and repression.
