Our biggest and most spectacular production yet, coming to The British Club Bangkok 22-23 May, featuring local opera star Kridhima Siriwattanakamol in the title role.

The Essential Opera Company in association with BCT, presents Bizet’s Carmen, reimagined as an intimate dinner theatre experience.

One of the world’s most beloved operas, Carmen is filled with unforgettable music, including the iconic Habanera and Toreador Song. Set in Seville, it’s a story of passion, freedom, and consequence, following the fiercely independent Carmen and the conflicted Don José. Performed in French with English dialogue, it’s clear, engaging, and accessible for all audiences.

The Essential Opera Company, in association with Bangkok Community Theatre, invites performers to audition for The Essential Carmen, featuring vivid characters, strong ensemble work, and powerful moments on stage. This production brings together trained opera singers and community performers in a collaborative rehearsal process.

We are seeking:
• Singing roles - Frasquita and Mercedes
• Acting-only roles - Zuniga, Remendado, Dancaire
• Chorus - all voice types (SATB) & experience levels welcome
• Dancers - confident movers for a featured dance group
