With white paper and black ink, Ding Min depicts the world of “Yōkai,” entities rooted in Japanese belief that there is a spirit dwelling in all things. Intertwined with her personal narratives on life, work, relationships, and her take on spirituality, many tales are told through her drawings resembling panel comics, mostly in one-panel format. They could be viewed as a sizable collection of her practice over the years, open for the audience to interpret, finding their version of story within.

In the “River > Birth” exhibition, Thirasak contemplates on multiple elements of nature, primarily the river. As water is mostly known as the giver of life, flower and moss, closely related to water, are there to represent the life. And as there is life, there is death, Thirasak’s works explore into the cycle of life and the impermanence of all things, revisiting one of the discourses rooted in Buddhism.

As time flies by, Mango Art Festival 2026 had happened on March 4-8. The art fair let us witness the changes in the Thai art market as well as the gradual development of the art fair itself.

The first thing to be recognized is the absence of art toys, although not entirely, depends on how you define what they are. This could either mean the trend has ended, or they are not quite fitted in an art fair.

Another thing is that, this time, there are many recognizable faces, both artists and curators who have been around for quite some time, particularly in the curated section. There are also some sizable artworks. This shows how the goal of becoming more than a trading event has started to take serious root and is going in a promising direction.

Like any art fairs with the main goal of selling and buying artworks, painting, sculpture, and print remain the dominant categories, as they are highly collectible. But what matters is the quality of the artworks and the consistency of the artist in developing their practice and career. Likely, this is how we differentiate those who only pass by and those who stay.

The art world is often viewed as inaccessible, as the general public is often considered an outsider, whether it be by those inside or by themselves. Throughout history, art has been linked to the upper class and the wealthy, who have assumed the roles of collectors and patrons.

However, in the present day, there’s a growing emphasis on artworks regarding social issues which are directly linked to society and the general public who are in this ecosystem as audiences.

Art is becoming more inclusive. It is shifting from being an individual pursuit to a collective one, welcoming a wider range of audiences. This positions art in a way that can address the question of its purpose and significance.

RELATABLE, a group exhibition curated by Pran Limchuenjai, showcases the perspectives and skills of 3 audiences, Beam - Tawan Panusittikorn, Caesar - Wariskit Akaradaycharat and Muang - Vasu Sirivanich, each contributing to the creation of their own art practices. Their works portray how they convey their own narratives, which include (1) Intra-family relationships, (2) life reflection in the current world, and (3) stereotypes of LGBTQ+, into artworks of their own.

There is a part in the fashion world that favors youth and perfection, and there is another that favors something different.

In FEWK’s “Early Year 2026” collection, he brings the elements of decay and flaws into his design. With rose, a widely known symbol for love, as the center element, FEWK’s latest collection for the year 2026 narrates the story of disappointment, grief, and acceptance. Through the study of its visual transformation through time, the states of faded, rotted, and dried are translated on the material, texture, and form, with the use of fabric manipulation techniques such as sun dyeing, tea-dyeing, and acid wash.

Apart from FEWK’s, the exhibition also features photos by Leo Tanapon, perfume by BLANCHAMBRE, flower installation by Naraphat Sakarthornsap, and poetry by Jessada Chan-yaem. Each interprets and conveys their own stories, going together in unity with the collection, giving an interesting move through incorporating and balancing the aspects of art and product.

Me, Myself, and I
Poems Dimension

[ENG] “What would it be like if we could meet ourselves from different ages?” is the question where the musical ‘Me, Myself, and I’ started. But beyond that, the story also brings us the conversation on self-discovery, passion, disappointment, and compromise.

The story unfolded from the main character going through his old belongings, which later escalated into him having an actual conversation with himself from different ages, which are 16, 26, and 36 years old. His 16 self was full of energy, passion, hope, and dreams. But he later felt disappointed in his 26 self, who had started to give up on his dream of becoming a musician, and even more with his 36 self, who completely gave up and accepted his reality of working full-time.

During the play, there are moments of happiness, hope, confusion, conflict, rage, and understanding. It is not meant to answer whether giving up on our dream is good or bad, but to lay down the reality of the consequences of our own choices.

Essentially, the story also perfectly represents POEMS DIMENSION, the small experimental theatre which produces this show as a part of its internal program, as it was found with the vision of being an incubating ground for young theatre graduates to pave their way into the professional stage. It is meant to make a difference to the current situation where not only theatre graduates but many art-related graduates need to change their course due to the scarcity of opportunities.

[ENG] Light is one of the most important elements, if not the most important, in images such as photographs and paintings depicting realistic scenes. But in “Light Fragments,” a solo exhibition by Panisa Jermhansa, light becomes the subject conveying nature, the sunlight that goes through leaves, how the wind makes them move, and how the presence of oneself is connected to the passage of time.

From her background as an architect who is very much interested in sustainability, her paintings show her understanding of space as well as her appreciation for nature. They are depicted in a poetic way through her choices of color, the materials which, apart from traditional canvas, are wood and metal.

[ENG] Orchids, Qu**rs, Art

“To Fall From Grace / จะร่วงหล่นเพื่อหวนคืน” navigates through the history of orchids in Thailand. As Dendrobium “Pompadour” was once considered the country’s number one cut-flower export, it has lost to Dendrobium “Sonia” because the latter is easier to cultivate, leading to a bigger potential to be commercialized.

As the artist is q***r himself, he raises questions on how social expectation and capitalism have shaped himself and others with similar identities, as well as many other things, how they “fall” not because they are not good, but because they don’t go with the world and the system. Hence, does that mean they are any good at all?
