La Lanta Fine Art proudly presents “The 4 Devils”, a group exhibition that assembles works by 4 artists, friends and former members of a gang who held exhibitions, published books and organised art events together over 20 years ago: P7, Lolay, Tinnakorn Kasornsuwan and Wutigorn Kongka.

Now, the 4 friends are reunited and ripe for conversation and exchange— each having carved his route through the art scene and come into his own— like 4 rivers, coursing across the landscape, or the ‘4 devils’ of the legendary Thai film, adventuring through the wild jungle of the art scene. On this occasion, the 4 rivers have converged to become one great body of water, and the 4 devils of the jungle have gathered to lounge around, talking up a storm, right here, within this very cave.

New arrivals! Scrap materials are repurposed and given new meaning in Thaiwijit Puengkasemsomboon's sculptures, which he calls "functional objects".

Drawing from product design and architecture, and driven by anxiety over unchecked environmental pollution, Thaiwijit centers, rather than hides, the use-and-toss history of his materials by highlighting their intrinsic qualities.

Last up, a new painting by Chantanee Kontoljinda of doves materializing in the at the periphery of deep, blue skies.

Next up are 2 works— part of a series of functional sculptures made of found materials— that question the difference between art and everyday object.
Thaiwijit is an abstract artist based in Chiang Mai who creates works infused with wondrous imagination and whimsy. His practice, always-evolving, defies easy categorization. Whether it be his paintings or assemblages made of found materials, his works have served as inspiration for younger artists to challenge convention and seek new possibilities.
