PGMF2026: Mozart and Beyond happened because of people.

Behind every concert, talk, rehearsal, artwork, drink, reception, post, stage cue, photo, and quiet problem solved at the last minute, there was a team making it possible.

Thank you to the PGMF team, PGVIM team, students, staff, artists, collaborators, volunteers, supporters, and everyone who carried this festival from idea to experience.

And to our audiences — thank you.

The “Beyond” part of this festival would not have been possible without those who came, listened, tasted, looked, questioned, and experienced it with us.

This year, Mozart was not treated only as a legend from the past, but as a living presence — a source of curiosity, imagination, courage, and artistic possibility.

Every concert asked a different question.
Every audience helped make that question alive.

Mozart may have been the starting point.
But the people made the festival possible.

เบื้องหลังทุกคอนเสิร์ต การเสวนา การซ้อม งานออกแบบ เครื่องดื่ม ช่วงรับรอง โพสต์ประชาสัมพันธ์ คิวบนเวที ภาพถ่าย และปัญหาเล็กใหญ่ที่ถูกแก้ไขในนาทีสุดท้าย คือทีมงานที่ทำให้เทศกาลนี้เกิดขึ้นจริง

คำว่า “Beyond” ในเทศกาลปีนี้จะเกิดขึ้นไม่ได้เลย หากไม่มีผู้ชมที่มาร่วมฟัง ร่วมชิม ร่วมมอง ร่วมตั้งคำถาม และร่วมสัมผัสประสบการณ์ไปพร้อมกับเรา

ในปีนี้ โมสาร์ทไม่ได้ถูกมองเพียงในฐานะตำนานจากอดีต แต่เป็นสิ่งที่ยังมีชีวิต เป็นแรงบันดาลใจของความใคร่รู้ จินตนาการ ความกล้า และความเป็นไปได้ทางศิลปะ

ทุกคอนเสิร์ตตั้งคำถามในแบบของตนเอง
และผู้ชมทุกท่านคือผู้ที่ทำให้คำถามเหล่านั้นมีชีวิตขึ้นจริง

PGMF2026: Mozart and Beyond was never only about music.

The “Beyond” part of the festival came to life through creative collaborators who helped us experience Mozart through image, taste, food, identity, and imagination.

Phayanchana asked what might happen if Thai letters could become Mozart, musical instruments, and visual language.

Sun to Sun asked what each concert might taste like, reimagining drinks inspired by Mozart’s time through Thai tea, local ingredients, temperature, and atmosphere.

Oboon Catering explored the reception as shared culture, connecting Mozart’s world with Siamese food, Thonburi-era imagination, and music for social occasion.

Dr. Natthawut Boriboonviree also helped reintroduce us to Mozart through “Who was Mozart, really?”, inviting us to look beyond the myth and return to Mozart as a curious, complex, and living creative force.

The closing evening also celebrated the creativity of young artists and future cultural leaders through the Call for Artists Showcase and the Business Model Ideation Academy "Global Pathway for Folk Music" in collaboration with PGVIM Continuo - Lifelong Learning Platform.

Through these programmes, PGMF continues to support not only performance, but also artistic thinking, audience development, creative entrepreneurship, and new possibilities for the future of music.

PGMF2026: Mozart and Beyond ไม่ได้เป็นเพียงเทศกาลดนตรีเท่านั้น

คำว่า “Beyond” ในเทศกาลปีนี้เกิดขึ้นได้ผ่านผู้ร่วมสร้างสรรค์จากหลากหลายสาขา ที่ช่วยให้เราได้สัมผัสโมสาร์ทผ่านภาพ รสชาติ อาหาร อัตลักษณ์ และจินตนาการ

Phayanchana ชวนเราตั้งคำถามว่า จะเกิดอะไรขึ้น หากตัวอักษรไทยสามารถกลายเป็นโมสาร์ท เครื่องดนตรี และภาษาภาพได้

Sun to Sun ชวนเราคิดว่า แต่ละคอนเสิร์ตจะมี “รสชาติ” อย่างไร ผ่านการตีความเครื่องดื่มที่ได้รับแรงบันดาลใจจากยุคของโมสาร์ท ด้วยชา วัตถุดิบท้องถิ่น อุณหภูมิ และบรรยากาศของแต่ละการแสดง

Oboon Catering สำรวจช่วงรับรองในฐานะวัฒนธรรมร่วม เชื่อมโยงโลกของโมสาร์ทเข้ากับอาหารสยาม จินตนาการของสยามยุคธนบุรี และดนตรีสำหรับโอกาสทางสังคม

อาจารย์ ดร.ณัฐวุฒิ บริบูรณ์วิรีย์ ยังได้ช่วยพาเรากลับมารู้จักโมสาร์ทอีกครั้งผ่าน “Who was Mozart, really?” เพื่อมองไกลกว่าภาพจำของอัจฉริยะ และกลับมาพบโมสาร์ทในฐานะพลังสร้างสรรค์ที่ซับซ้อน ใคร่รู้ และยังมีชีวิต

ค่ำคืนปิดเทศกาลยังได้เฉลิมฉลองพลังสร้างสรรค์ของศิลปินรุ่นใหม่และผู้นำทางวัฒนธรรมรุ่นต่อไป ผ่านกิจกรรม Call for Artists Showcase และ Business Model Ideation Academy ในหัวข้อ Global Pathway for Folk Music ร่วมกับ PGVIM Continuo - Lifelong Learning Platform

Letters and Mozart brought the festival to its final encounter: Mozart as Shared Culture.

Do we really know what happened then?

Through letters Mozart wrote in the same year as the Divertimento, the concert invited us to hear not only the music, but also the world around it — his relationships, reactions, desires, social context, and the occasions for which music was created.

At the heart of the programme was the Divertimento, written in 1777, or B.E. 2320. In Siam, this was during the Thonburi period under the reign of King Taksin the Great, five years before Bangkok became the capital. The work reminds us of music for gathering, sociability, shared pleasure, and occasion. In the end, perhaps this is still what musicians do today: respond to people, places, moments, and the world around us.

We also extend our gratitude to Han Xiaoming and Ray Zhang, who shared their artistry with PGVIM and Thai students through masterclasses during the festival.

Resident Artist Concert #6: Letters and Mozart brought the festival to its final encounter: Mozart as Shared Culture.

ผ่านจดหมายที่โมสาร์ทเขียนในปีเดียวกับ Divertimento คอนเสิร์ตนี้ชวนให้เราไม่ได้ฟังเพียงบทเพลง แต่ยังได้มองเห็นโลกที่รายล้อมบทเพลงนั้น ทั้งความสัมพันธ์ การตอบสนอง ความปรารถนา บริบททางสังคม และโอกาสที่ทำให้ดนตรีเกิดขึ้น

หัวใจของรายการคือ Divertimento ซึ่งประพันธ์ขึ้นในปี ค.ศ. 1777 หรือ พ.ศ. 2320 ในสมัยกรุงธนบุรี ภายใต้รัชกาลสมเด็จพระเจ้าตากสินมหาราช บทเพลงนี้พาเรากลับไปมองดนตรีในฐานะสิ่งที่เกิดขึ้นเพื่อการพบปะ ความรื่นรมย์ร่วมกัน และโอกาสทางสังคม ท้ายที่สุดแล้ว บางทีนี่อาจเป็นสิ่งที่นักดนตรียังคงทำอยู่ในปัจจุบัน คือการตอบสนองต่อผู้คน สถานที่ ช่วงเวลา และโลกที่อยู่รอบตัวเรา

Future in Motion: Mozart in Red brought us into Mozart as Inheritance.

Selected from the Call for Artists Showcase, Mozart in Red asked what today’s artists see in Mozart — and how they can inherit, question, transform, and carry that legacy forward.

The work explored a moment of artistic self-definition: to respect the past without being trapped by it, and to turn tradition into something alive, personal, and new.

After Giovanni brought us into the festival’s fourth encounter: Mozart as Drama.

What happens when the dramatic world of Don Giovanni — its tension, desire, conflict, and musical traces — is recomposed into a completely new sound world?

Without text, singing, or conventional acting, After Giovanni transformed Mozart’s theatrical energy through strings, electronics, and techno. Drama emerged not through words, but through sound, texture, repetition, collision, and physical intensity.

จะเกิดอะไรขึ้น หากเรานำโลกของ Don Giovanni ทั้งความตึงเครียด ความปรารถนา ความขัดแย้ง และร่องรอยทางดนตรี มาประพันธ์ใหม่ในโลกเสียงที่แตกต่างออกไปโดยสิ้นเชิง

โดยไม่มีถ้อยคำ ไม่มีการร้อง และไม่มีการแสดงละครในรูปแบบเดิม After Giovanni ได้เปลี่ยนพลังทางละครของโมสาร์ทให้เกิดขึ้นผ่านเครื่องสาย อิเล็กทรอนิกส์ และดนตรีเทคโน ละครจึงไม่ได้เกิดจากคำพูด แต่เกิดจากเสียง เนื้อสัมผัส การซ้ำ การปะทะ และพลังทางกายภาพของดนตรี

Mozart Unscripted brought us into the festival’s third encounter: Mozart as Method.

What happens when we take Mozart’s music out of the fixed script and let it move through another genre, another process, and another way of listening?

This performance explored Mozart not only as written music, but as a method — a way of responding, improvising, transforming, and creating in the moment. Through a different genre and a more open musical process, Mozart became something alive, reactive, and unpredictable.

จะเกิดอะไรขึ้น หากเรานำดนตรีของโมสาร์ทออกจากสคริปต์เดิม และปล่อยให้มันเคลื่อนไปในอีกแนวเพลง อีกกระบวนการ และอีกวิธีของการฟัง

การแสดงนี้ชวนให้เรามองโมสาร์ทไม่ใช่เพียงในฐานะบทเพลงที่ถูกเขียนไว้แล้ว แต่ในฐานะ “วิธีการ” — วิธีของการตอบสนอง การด้นสด การเปลี่ยนรูป และการสร้างสรรค์ที่เกิดขึ้น ณ ขณะนั้น ผ่านแนวเพลงและกระบวนการทางดนตรีที่เปิดกว้างขึ้น โมสาร์ทจึงกลายเป็นสิ่งที่มีชีวิต ตอบสนองได้ และคาดเดาไม่ได้

Mozart is NOT enough invited us into the festival’s second encounter: Mozart as Question.

If Mozart’s compositions are already complete, beautiful, and historically powerful — are they enough as an artistic experience for today?

This performance asked us to look beyond preservation. Mozart became the starting point for dialogue, critique, response, and expansion — a space where today’s artists could question what it means to inherit a legacy and still speak in their own creative language.

Throwback to last Wednesday evening at PGMF2026: Mozart and Beyond

Following the Pre-Festival Talk, we entered the first musical encounter of the festival:
Resident Artist Concert #1: Mozart, Elsewhere

Through the idea of Mozart as Sound, the concert invited us to ask:
What happens when Mozart’s music is heard through a different instrumentation?
How can familiar works travel into new colours, textures, and sonorities?

In collaboration with Musique de la Vie, Mozart, Elsewhere began from the sound world of flute and harp, before moving Mozart’s music “elsewhere” through new arrangements for flute, harp, and piano.
