At Frieze Los Angeles, 303 Gallery will exhibit a solo presentation by Alicja Kwade. This presentation brings together a group of works that the artist has been developing and refining continuously over many years, reflecting, with a certain irony, on capitalism, optimization and the circulation of goods, time and value. Familiar objects, fruits and global symbols appear altered in weight, function or meaning, questioning how value is produced, transported and perceived, not only in the global economy but also within the art market itself.

Eigenbahn „refers to humans as egocentric beings in the midst of a geocentric world. The human microcosm, depending on the senses with which he understands the world, on a small trajectory, orbiting within a much larger, incomprehensible macrocosm. The stool stands here for the human being, the social being, that creates its world of things and reality. The stool as one of the most common commodities of our culture, standardized for the human body is in counteraction to the obliquely circling boulder, reminiscent of an asteroid. In a humorous way, not admonishing, the cosmic menace hovers like a sword of Damocles over the man, sitting on the stool, the danger often approaches from behind.

Here is a new work made from bronze casts of the Monobloc chair, the most produced piece of furniture on Earth, combined with Macaulay spheres, assembled into a kind of Tower of Babel Favorit maxican Family .

After so many years, it is finally standing — in Horsens
I am deeply grateful to everyone who stayed with us for so long and believed in this project.
