When beauty is interpreted beyond form, shape, or any defined framework, the artist presents minimalist conceptual lighting that invites reflection on things beyond humanity itself.

At the same time, it remains profound, in a way that only humans can truly understand. Through the concept of the Beauty of Appreciating Light, a natural phenomenon such as light becomes the key element of the work, guiding viewers to shift their focus away from themselves or humanity and toward an exploration of the surrounding environment.

These seemingly simple works are thoughtfully considered and meticulously crafted through careful selection of colors and appropriate techniques, supported by scientific experimentation to create interaction with light.

Each piece reveals a different journey of light, leading viewers to observe the remarkable possibilities of natural light.

‘COLOURING’ the solo exhibition at , 9.5 —— 9.28 2025

The imitation of coloured objects on the opposite side of the wall is created through projection mapping.
 I simulate light coming from four directions. On the sides where shadows are cast, the colours appear darker.

These coloured objects are created specifically to interact with light. They reach their full effect when placed on a wall where sunlight shines through. As the light hits them, the objects themselves engage with it, casting shadows at angles that highlight their full expansion.

That’s how the object plays with the light :)

光と影の変化をテーマに、作家 ASITNAHC が光の反射や映り込みを絵画や映像で表現。
時間・空間・光の関係性を探り、日常では捉えられない光の一瞬を切り取る。鑑賞者が光と向き合い、深く味わう体験できる個展。

In this exhibition, COLOURING, I explores the theme of transformations of light and shadow, expressing reflections and refractions of light through painting and video. By probing the relationship between time, space, and light, the works capture fleeting moments of light that cannot be perceived in everyday life.
The exhibition invites viewers to confront light itself, leading them into a profound sensory experience.

My very first solo exhibition in Japan and I’m even more excited that it’s happening in Nagoya, the city where I spent a year studying printmaking and met talented friends who have now become very successful artists.
