If you’ve ever visited Thailand, you may have noticed small spirit houses outside homes, businesses, hotels, or other buildings.

In Thai tradition, these little shrines are places where offerings such as flowers, drinks, food and sometimes small figurines or dolls may be placed. 🙏

And here’s where the spooky story begins… 👀

Some Thais believe you should never take a doll or figurine from a spirit house home with you. Why?

Because according to the superstition, you might not be bringing home just a souvenir… 👻

Something might decide to follow you home too. 😂

Of course, this is a traditional belief and superstition but in Thailand, respecting a spirit house and the offerings placed there is taken seriously by many people.

So if you visit Thailand and see something cute sitting at a spirit house…

Look 👀
Take a photo 📸
But maybe… leave it exactly where you found it. 😂👻
