Below is a summary of strictly official information from the Immigration Bureau:
1. Official Contact Channels and Hotline The Immigration Bureau provides a dedicated hotline separate from the Tourist Police (1155). This is the direct number of the Immigration Bureau: Immigration Hotline: Call 1178 Used for: Visa regulation inquiries, reporting illegal foreign nationals, and verifying whether someone claiming to be an immigration officer is legitimate. Official Website: www.immigration.go.th Important Warning: The official government website must end with .go.th only. Websites ending in .com / .net / .org are typically private visa agencies or potentially fraudulent websites.
2. Official Warnings About Fake Websites The Immigration Bureau has issued warnings about websites that imitate official government pages in order to charge fees for services that are actually free. Digital Arrival Card (TM.6 / TDAC) Warning: Fake websites are charging registration fees. Official Free Website: tdac.immigration.go.th (Thailand Digital Arrival Card) 90-Day Reporting Warning: Be cautious of agencies using names similar to “Immigration” that offer online reporting services and request credit card information. 3. Fake News Clarifications The Immigration Bureau has recently collaborated with the Anti-Fake News Center to clarify misinformation that caused concern among foreign nationals. Fake News Claim: “Immigration has issued a new rule limiting Visa Exemption entries to no more than two times per year.” Official Statement: The Immigration Bureau confirmed that no such regulation has been issued. 4. Common Scams Frequently Warned by Immigration Visa Run Scams: Illegal agents offer to process border visa runs or renew visas without the applicant appearing in person. Victims often receive fake stamps and may later be arrested for document forgery when departing Thailand.
