Wantaya Thitipaisal | Stress Test

The palette carries much of this duality. In Stress Test, Wantaya moves between soft, pastel hues and passages of deep, near-black tone, often within the same canvas. The darker passages tend to sit closest to the personal, while the lighter pastel tones carry something more playful.

The effect throughout is emotive and physical rather than illustrative. What each viewer takes from the work is entirely their own.

Stress Test will be on view at Supples Gallery from 1 August - 4 October 2026.

The exhibition will be on view at Supples Gallery from 1 August - 4 October, with the official opening taking place on Saturday 1st August from 6-9pm.

Aung Myint | CLASH

Aung Myint (b. 1946, Yangon) is a leading figure in Myanmar's contemporary art scene. Working across painting, installation, and performance, his practice is known for its expressive, gesture-driven approach and independence from formal constraints. His acclaimed Mother & Child series (2002-2008) brought him international recognition, alongside the ASEAN Art Award in 2002.

His works have been exhibited widely across Asia, Europe, and the United States, and are held in major collections including the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art.

CLASH will be on view at Supples Gallery from 9 May to 12 July 2026.

Aung Myint | CLASH

Working with a reduced yet highly charged palette, Aung Myint constructs surfaces where color and gesture take precedence over narrative. Recurrent figures and direct gazes appear throughout the paintings, creating a sense of continuity across the works while maintaining an underlying intensity. Rather than guiding the viewer toward a fixed interpretation, the compositions remain open, shaped by rhythm, repetition, and the artist's intuitive process.
