Aung Myint (b. 1946, Yangon) is a leading figure in Myanmar's contemporary art scene. Working across painting, installation, and performance, his practice is known for its expressive, gesture-driven approach and independence from formal constraints. His acclaimed Mother & Child series (2002-2008) brought him international recognition, alongside the ASEAN Art Award in 2002.
His works have been exhibited widely across Asia, Europe, and the
United States, and are held in major collections including the Solomon
R. Guggenheim Museum and Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of
Modern Art.
