Ronggeng is a rare musical tradition rooted in the Malay culture of Southern Thailand, a sound that many people may never have had the chance to experience.

Art Teerawat Ukris and Rongngeng Poetry Garden (รองเเง็งสวนกวี) have taken this musical heritage and reinterpreted it in their own contemporary way, making it accessible, enjoyable, and easy to connect with even if you know nothing about Ronggeng.

What makes it special is that while the music continues to evolve, its cultural roots are still there. It becomes more than a performance, it is another way of keeping a musical tradition alive and introducing it to a new generation of listeners.

This ambient set felt like scenes from different films woven into one performance.

Two moments stood out: one felt like wandering through a forest at night, surrounded by frogs, insects, birds, and other nocturnal creatures, the other felt like suddenly being transported into space and having a conversation with aliens. 🌿🐸🦉👽

Every performance by this artist is impossible to predict, and that’s exactly what makes it so captivating. Each set unfolds into something genuinely extraordinary, making him one of the most exciting experimental artists to follow.
