🎥 عن الفيلم :
منذ أزلنا إلى زوالنا، تبقى قصص الثورات والحروب ُمحّيرة، مُربكة، مُقلقة، أسطورية، قاسية، عنيفة، لكنها تظلّ انعكاساً لطبيعتنا البشرية، مهما ابتعدت عنا.
ثوار، أبطال، متطرفون، قتلة، مجرمون ... هي بعضٌ من أحكام لا يمكن تعميم أحدها ولا إسقاطُ الآخر.

في مهبّ الريح، فيلم تأملي، من خلف الكواليس، عن مجموعة من المقاتلين السوريين المدنيين. بين العمليات القتالية، يعيش الرجال معاً، يلعبون الورق، ويتناقشون حول حال البلد ووجودهم الهشّ المشحون بالتّوتر.

🎥 About the film:

From our very beginnings to our eventual end, the stories of revolutions and wars remain bewildering, unsettling, disturbing, mythical, harsh, and violent — yet they continue to reflect our human nature, no matter how distant they may seem from us.

Revolutionaries, heroes, extremists, killers, criminals… these are some of the judgments that can neither be universally applied nor entirely dismissed.

Gone with the Wind is a contemplative behind-the-scenes film about a group of Syrian civilian fighters. Between military operations, the men live together, play cards, and discuss the state of the country and their own fragile, tension-filled existence.

🎥 عن الفيلم : بين قلب مدينةٍ يتداخل فيها الاحتجاج والأغاني مع القصف والفقد، ومحيطٍ محفوفٍبالخطر، يأخذنا "حارس الطريق" محمّلاً بعبء الدفاع عن قيمة يؤمن بها، ووصيةٍ تدفع بهذا العبء إلى أقصاه. على مدى ثلاث سنوات، يقترب الفيلم من شخصياته، في مدينة سراقب، حيث تتكثف الصراعات وتدخل الثورة طوراً أكثر قسوة وحدّة.
شهادة سينمائية من الداخل ترصد هذه التبدلات وأثرها في الناس والمكان ومعنى الثورة نفسها.

Amid the heart of a city where protests and songs intertwine with bombardment and loss, and within a perilous surrounding, the “Guardian of the Road” leads us while carrying the burden of defending a value he deeply believes in, along with a final wish that pushes this burden to its furthest limits. Over the course of three years, the film draws close to its characters in the city of Saraqib, where conflicts intensify and the revolution enters a harsher and more violent phase.

A cinematic testimony from within, documenting these transformations and their impact on people, place, and the very meaning of the revolution itself.

Notebooks in which lovers of the homeland wrote their messages to it. In the darkness of the night, men write slogans, poems, and the names of martyrs on the walls of their city, transforming these walls—through form, color, letters, and words—into testimonies to the transformations of the Syrian revolution, from its first moments of euphoria to its deep disappointments.

تتناول الورشة حياة الفيلم الوثائقي وكيف يتشكل عبر اسئلته و اختياراته، وما يرافق ذلك من صراع أخلاقي و جمالي و إنتاجي
تستند الورشة الى تجربة عملية في صناعة الفلم الوثائقي ( سينما المؤلف ) وتجمع بين الحوار المفتوح وتفكيك التجربة العملية .

“How Do We Think About Documentary Film?”
with filmmaker Iyad Al-Jaroud
The workshop explores the life of documentary film — how it is shaped through its questions and choices, and the ethical, aesthetic, and production-related struggles that accompany it.
Based on a practical experience in documentary filmmaking (Auteur Cinema), the workshop combines open discussion with the deconstruction of real creative experiences.
This workshop is organized by Cinema Al-Reeh and Harmony Cultural Forum, in collaboration with Anhar Network for Human Rights Films and Fish Eye Company, with support from Ettijahat – Independent Culture.

سبعُ سنواتٍ كان فيها الفن لغة للسّلام، وجسر نعبره لنلتقي بالآخر كما هو، بفرحه، بآلامه، وأحلامه.

سبع سنوات، وهارموني يصحَبنا في رحلةٍ لنعبرَ ما مرّ من أيام، و نخطّ أبجديّتنا الإنسانية بكل ما نتشارك به من مشاعرٍ ، حبٍّ ، ألمٍ ، وحياة.
ثم يعبرُ بنا إلى ما وراء الألوان، لنغوص أكثر بذواتنا و أصالتنا.

اليوم نحتفل معكم و بكم، بكل ما ستحملُهُ السّنين من حياةٍ و قصصّ، منكم و إليكم.
أمّا عن المحطّة القادمة، فهيّا معاً لنصغي لهويتنا و صوت تراثنا في مشروع إحياء، ونرويه بحروف فنية.

For seven years, Harmony has accompanied us on a journey of Crossing (Obour) through the passing days, inscribing our Alphabet of Art and Humanity through every shared emotion, love, pain, and life itself. A Plate of Sardines (1997)

Director: Omar Amiralay

Duration: 17 minutes

Synopsis: In this short documentary, Amiralay reflects on the first time he ever heard of Israel. Through recorded conversations with director Mohammad Malas, both filmmakers share their unique stories and experiences regarding Israel and the Israeli occupation.

The Present (2020)
Director: Farah Nabulsi

Duration: 25 minutes

Synopsis: On his wedding anniversary, Yusef sets out with his young daughter in the West Bank to buy a gift for his wife. Between soldiers, apartheid, and checkpoints, how simple can a shopping trip really be?

This screening is presented by the "Aflamuna" (Musahat) platform.

Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964)

⏱️ Running time: 95 minutes

🎥 About the film: General Jack Ripper, a commander at a US military base, decides to disobey the high command and send dozens of planes to bomb the Russian interior with nuclear bombs, to punish them for spreading the communist conspiracy in the world in general, and in his body and manhood in particular. The American command learns of the declaration of war and attempts, together with the Soviet Union’s command, to nullify the effects of General Ripper’s decisions and their repercussions.

🎥 عن الفيلم: جيل بيندر كاتب سيناريو وروائي طموح. يقضي إجازته في باريس مع خطيبته، وقد اعتاد التجول في المدينة بمفرده. في إحدى جولاته الليلية، يلتقي بمجموعة من الساهرين الغريبين الذين يأخذونه معهم، إلى الماضي لقضاء ليلة مع بعض رموز عصر الجاز في الفن والأدب. كلّما زاد الوقت الذي يقضيه جيل مع هؤلاء الشخصيات من الماضي، ازداد استياؤه من الحاضر.

🎥 About the film:
Gil Pender is an aspiring screenwriter and novelist. He spends his vacation in Paris with his fiancée and has a habit of wandering the city on his own. During one of his nighttime strolls, he encounters a group of unusual revelers who take him back in time to spend a night with some of the icons of the Jazz Age in art and literature. The more time Gil spends with these figures from the past, the more dissatisfied he becomes with the present.
A magical journey through time in the city of Paris, where imagination blends with reality.
