An interesting developing and trending story is one regarding South Sudan and isreal governments being in talks to resettle Palestinians from Gaza to South Sudan. From one war-torn country to another? What a joke!!
This explains why the South Sudan minister of foreign affairs, Hon. Semaya Monday, was in Israel late last month. Perhaps he was there to set the grounds for these talks.
But why has South Sudan suddenly become so welcoming to an abandoned group of people (criminals and refugees)? A few weeks ago, it was the criminals from the U.S, and now it's refugees from Gaza.
You know why??
In 2018, the UN imposed an armed embargo on South Sudan, restricting the South Sudan government's purchase of military equipment, ammunition, and vehicles from any country.
The embargo is a big punch on the SSPDF, weakening the armyโs ability to engage in war.
The SPLM government is scared that the SSPDF is now weak and unable to engage and win any war. The army is ill-dressed, armed and fed.
The above explains why the SSPDF encountered heavy losses last March in Nassir and Ulang counties and why Machar was put in detention to prevent any outbreak of war, which the SSPDF is not ready to engage in. The SSPDF's weakness also explains why the South Sudan government is sacrificing to pay for the deployment of Uganda troops in Juba, even when there is no serious war.
Now, the reason why the Juba government wants Palestinians to be resettled in South Sudan, even when the Egyptians and the Arab world, who are close to Gaza in many ways, have refused, is to appease the U.S. and its allies, like Israel, to lift the arms embargo so the South Sudan government can buy military weapons. That's why Juba has also recently accepted criminals from the U.S.
Isreal and the U.S want Palestinians from Gaza to be relocated so they can attack Gaza with full force to dismantle Hamas once and for all.
