Lainya County Commissioner Hon. Robert Lasu Oversees Release of Detained Youths
Lainya County – 9 December 2025:
Pojulu Broadcasting Service (PBS) reports that Lainya County Commissioner, Hon. Robert Lasu, together with the Wonduruba Coordinator, today witnessed the release of several youths who had been detained in Lainya County.
The youths, who were earlier captured in Wonduruba, safely returned home and were released without any charges. They were reported to be in good health upon their return.
This development is seen as an important step toward peace, healing, and reconciliation within the community.
Speaking during the release, Hon. Lasu emphasized the need for unity and open dialogue in addressing issues involving young people.
“Today is a clear sign of our commitment to justice and the well-being of our youth. We believe in creating an environment where young people can live and grow without fear of unjust detention,” Commissioner Lasu said.
Families and community members welcomed the youths with joy and celebration. The people of Wonduruba showed resilience throughout the difficult period, and today’s event reflects the strong cooperation between local leaders and the community in protecting citizens’ rights.
Commissioner Lasu reaffirmed his office’s commitment to law and order while prioritizing community welfare, adding that efforts will continue to create opportunities and support systems for the youth to prevent similar incidents in the future.
As Lainya County moves forward, PBS highlights the renewed focus on building a safer and more supportive environment, especially for the youth, who remain the backbone and future of the community.
