Dear Esteemed Members of the Port Loko Artists Union and the Greater Port Loko Community,

It is with immense pride and joy that we announce the results of the recent elections for the presidency of the Port Loko Artists Union. After a competitive and spirited campaign, Mr. Lamin Hassan Bangura, known to many as 'B Spark,' has emerged victorious as the newly elected President.

Election Results:

- Mr. Lamin Hassan Bangura (B Spark): 33 votes
- Mr. Sulaiman B Sesay (Ragon Sky): 26 votes
- Total Valid Votes Cast: 59

As the Secretary-General and Social Media Manager of the Port Loko City Entertainment Union, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to 'Prezzo B Spark' for his dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment to the Port Loko entertainment community. His vision for growth, inclusivity, and innovation will undoubtedly steer our union towards new heights.

I would also like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to Mr. Sulaiman B Sesay for his service and contributions during his tenure. His efforts have laid a strong foundation for our union, and we hope to build upon his legacy.

To all members, your participation in this election underscores the strength of our community and our shared desire for progress. In a significant advancement for the entertainment sector in Port Loko, the Head of Administration of Port Loko City Entertainment Union, CEO AMB Osman Souun Sesay, officially presented the signed Peace Agreement Communique to His Worship, Mayor Alie Badara Tarawallie, on Wednesday, 19th March 2025. This agreement addresses the recent disputes within the artistic community and was the result of careful negotiation aimed at prioritizing the best interests of all stakeholders involved.

During the presentation, Amb. Souun and Mayor Tarawallie engaged in extensive discussions regarding several critical developmental issues pertinent to the entertainment sector in the municipality. They expressed their appreciation for the leadership shown by the Port Loko City Entertainment Union, particularly by President Musa Mike Sesay, who played a vital role in fostering peace among the diverse factions within the Port Loko Artists Union—an essential component of the local entertainment industry.

The Port Loko Artists Union Dispute Has Been Resolved by the Port Loko City Entertainment Union

In a significant development, the Port Loko City Entertainment Union convened a decisive meeting on Saturday, 15th March 2025, to address ongoing issues within the Port Loko Artists Union, culminating in the decision to hold fresh presidential elections.

The meeting took place in the Conference Room of the Port Loko City Entertainment Union Office, attended by key representatives from both the Port Loko Artists Union and its parent body, the Port Loko City Entertainment Union. This gathering aimed to foster dialogue and restore unity within the artistic community.

During the proceedings, all officials and executives present, including the President of the Port Loko City Entertainment Union, Mr. Musa Mike Sesay, emphasized the critical importance of peace, unity, and conflict resolution. Mr. Sesay articulated his unwavering belief in fostering an environment of harmony and collaboration, asserting that such values are essential for the growth and stability of any community-focused organization.

Both parties were then allowed to express their thoughts, reflecting on the detailed analyses presented by various officials of the parent body, notably from the Supreme Head. Their statements conveyed a unified sense of confidence, trust, and optimism regarding the role of the Port Loko City Entertainment Union as the overarching authority for all social activities and groups in Port Loko.

In a gesture acknowledging the need for reconciliation, the current President of the Port Loko Artists Union, Mr. Sulaiman Bakarr Sesay (popularly known as Ragon Sky), agreed to the need to call for an election as he is ready to step aside from his presidential duties and conduct elections after the East VS West Show. This decision was made in response to the communal call for peace and was motivated by his commitment to the welfare of the organization and its members. He expressed his willingness to facilitate the upcoming elections as swiftly as possible.

Final Communique Highlights:
- The Port Loko Artists Union Presidential Elections are scheduled for Saturday, 7th June 2025, to take place at the Port Loko City Entertainment Union's office.
- President Sulaiman Bakarr Sesay will reinstate all dismissed executives and officials immediately, thereby restoring all positions that had been vacated during the conflict.
- The President will also restore all members previously removed from the Port Loko Artists Union's WhatsApp Group to encourage open communication during this transitional phase.
- Plans for the East VS West Show will proceed as scheduled, and all parties are called upon to collaborate closely on this initiative, with updates to be shared with the broader community in preparation for the elections.
- All involved parties are encouraged to work peacefully and cooperatively with President Sesay during this transitional period to ensure a smooth electoral process.

'Port Loko City Entertainment Union Seats on The Dispute Between a Cross-section of the Port Loko Artists Union Agrieve Membership and Mr. Sulaiman B. Sesay, President of the Port Loko Artists Union'

In a significant step towards fostering unity and development among youth and aspiring musicians in the entertainment sector of Port Loko City, the Port Loko City Entertainment Union convened to address the formal Petitioning and Vote of No Confidence against Mr. Sulaiman B. Sesay, also known as Rangon Sky, who serves as the President of the Port Loko Artists Union.

The gathering was prompted by a surge of grievances voiced by a faction of the Port Loko Artists Union’s members. These concerns have culminated in demands for a transition in leadership, citing issues ranging from mismanagement to a perceived lack of support for artists under Mr. Sesay’s presidency. In response, the Port Loko City Entertainment Union is committed to facilitating an unbiased investigation into these allegations to restore harmony within the artistic community.

During the session, various stakeholders—including aggrieved artists and Mr. Sesay along with his executive team—shared their perspectives. The aim was to clarify misunderstandings and outline a path forward that embodies the union’s core values of rights, freedom, peace, unity, love, and togetherness, which are essential for the continued growth and enhancement of the music industry in Port Loko.

The symposium featured key figures from the union’s hierarchy, including the President, Vice President, Secretary-General, Social Media Manager, Entertainment Consultant, Finance Officer, Entertainment Chief Minister, and Organizing Secretary. Additionally, representatives from other community organizations, such as the President of the Association of Social Teams, the Interim Chairperson and Vice of the Club Union, the Regional President of the MCs Union, and Chief Bai Saidu Kanu of the Ministry of Lands attended to lend their insights and support.

Mr. Musa Mike Sesay, the President of the Port Loko City Entertainment Union, emphasized the importance of prioritizing peace and cooperation throughout his tenure. He called upon all unions and entities under the Port Loko umbrella to focus on constructive dialogue rather than resorting to conflict. He urged Mr. Sulaiman B. Sesay to engage with his team seriously to address the noted grievances efficiently, stating that the onus is on the president to prevent further escalation of tensions.

Mr. Mike concluded by stating that the Port Loko City Entertainment Union would handle the situation with careful diplomacy and wisdom, keeping the collective interests of the Port Loko Artists Union in mind. He warned that if Mr Sesay fails to demonstrably address the issues at hand promptly, the union would have no choice but to initiate an election process shortly. He also highlighted his contributions to the peace and progress of the Port Loko Artists Union, indicating his deep investment in the community’s future.

The meeting ended on a hopeful note, as the union outlined the following resolutions to be implemented by Saturday, March 15, 2025:

1. Both factions must submit written proposals to the entertainment union for reform before the next meeting scheduled for Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
2. The Port Loko Artists Union is required to pay a fine of NLe 1,000 for misconduct during the hearing.
3. An official letter of apology must be sent to the parent body by both parties of the Port Loko Artists Union within 72 hours from the time of this press release.
4. The reinstatement of all union members removed by Mr Sesay through the union's WhatsApp forum of the Port Loko Artists Union is to take effect immediately.

The engagement concluded positively, marked by expressions of hope and a commitment to transformation. All parties are looking forward to the subsequent meeting on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Port Loko City Entertainment Union’s office, where further discussions will continue.

'Port Loko City Entertainment Union Secures Office Stationeries from Former President, Mr. Momoh Lawrence Turay'

On Tuesday, 25th February 2025, the Port Loko City Entertainment Union Executives, boldly took a significant step forward by officially receiving essential office stationeries from Mr. Momoh Lawrence Turay, Former Entertainment Union President in Port Loko, Journalist at Radio Bankasoka FM 97.5, Member at the Community Action For Advocacy (CAFA) and now Programs Manager at the MADAM Organization in Makeni, Northern Region, Sierra Leone.

This event attracted influential youth and key stakeholders who made firm commitments to support the union's development.

Mr. Turay's generous contribution not only equips the union but also highlights his longstanding dedication to youth transformation, empowerment, and capacity-building. His support serves as a vital lifeline, dramatically reducing the financial burden on the union and enabling it to effectively begin its operations in the new office space.

His commitment to the union—and its future—is unwavering, as he continues to nurture his passion as a founding member and past leader.

'Port Loko City Entertainment Union Officially Opened Its Doors to the Public'

In the entertainment industry in Port Loko Sierra Leone, the land of the gateway and arrival, one of the renowned youth institutions in the land, __ Port Loko City Entertainment Union has officially opened its office space (doors) to members of the public on Friday, 7th February 2025 under the influence and courtesy support of His Worship - Alie Badara Tarawallie, Mayor and team of staff and councilors at the Port Loko City Council.

The opening ceremony hosted series of key community stakeholders, social clubs, unions such as Port Loko Artists Union, Club Union, MC's Union, Film Markers Union, Bloggers Union, Radio Bankasoka FM 97.5, Association of Social Teams, Celebrity and Modeling Agency, CIFID Sierra Leone, Bai Bureh Heritage Foundation Sierra Leone, Easy Solar, Africell Sierra Leone, Port Loko City Sierra Leone Library, Port Loko City Council, Councillors, Sierra Leone Red Cross Society, MADAM Office, and other community CSOs.

Speaking on the occurrence, the President of the union - Mr Musa Mike Sesay thanked and appreciated the good work done by the Mayor and his team for the support and empowerment of the entertainment union in Port Loko City since he took over the mantle of leadership in the city as the Mayor the Port Loko City Council and other few stakeholders who have been so supportive of his regime in likes of Amb. Cllr. Unisa Totti Fofanah, the Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dr. Bernadette Sanko Kamara of the BSK Group of Companies in the United States of America.

In his continuation statement, the president said, the office space we're now opening today is given to us by the Port Loko City Council through the help of the sitting Mayor, Alie Badara Tarawallie plus the persistent perseverance of my executives who are here today and outlines a series of sustainable developmental strides the Mayor and his team has supported this union in all its cost and mandate. The Mayor, the council, and the Sierra Leone Police Port Loko Division have penned down more attention and premium efforts to ensure that the union is been valued and taken seriously by members of the community, especially in our mandate to regulate, coordinate, super see and monitor all social events within the city jurisdiction. It's a deep sense of gratitude and honor to have such a transformative and developmental leader in the community and we the people of Port Loko City haven't made any mistakes by voting for this man to drive us.

As a union, we're extending our profound gratitude and thank you to His Worship, Alie Badara Tarawallie, and His Council for their immense support in empowering and inspiring this union and for prioritizing it as one of his five (5) Agenda in his office.

In a policy statement, the Mayor outlined a series of key issues and law enforcement regulations that will help the union stand and be strong in the city. Few among the many outlined issues are as follows:

1. They as a council have passed the said office space into law by giving the said building to the Port Loko City Entertainment Union and there is no to take it from the union unless the council sits and votes to withdraw the building.
2. They have also agreed to our last meeting regarding social event/show Clearance fees and procedures and that they also build the MOU between the union, the council, and the police that no social event/show/clearance would be issued to anyone that goes without the Port Loko City Entertainment Union Clearance
3. All social institutions must ensure they are registered through the Port Loko City Entertainment Union line unions and/or sub-units or entities and they must also register with the Port Loko City Council
4. The council will not accept and allow any social events/shows to stage without the Port Loko City Entertainment Union and the council Social Event/Clearance and Registration Certificate
5. All institutions and/or unions or clubs are to present their calendar of activities for the year to the Port Loko City Entertainment Union for submission to the Port Loko City Council. Failure to do so, such a perpetrator would not stage any social event/show in the city.
6. No advertisement or placement of events billboards in the city without City Council Clearance as part of the home source revenue.
7. Any institution that stages or organizes social events within the city must be a registered member group of the Port Loko City Entertainment Union and must have their clearance before any social event is being staged or organized including my club CAFA
8. In a bid for the entertainment union to be captured in the council funds allocation, they will invite the Youths Commission to add the Port Loko City Entertainment Union to their budget before they approve their budget.
