He graduated from Njala University, Bo Campus, with a distinguished First Class degree in Social Work, emerging as one of the university’s outstanding graduating students.

Mr Mohamed Kamara is an experienced community health professional, advocate, and community leader with years of service dedicated to strengthening healthcare delivery and community-based programmes.

Born in Rokupr Town, Magbema Chiefdom, Kambia District, he received his primary education at Roman Catholic Primary School, Rokupr Town, and his secondary education at St. Helena A.M.E. Senior Secondary School. He later pursued tertiary studies at the Government Technical Institute in Freetown and UNIMTECH Kono. His additional professional development includes training in Street Work, Community Health Worker Advocacy, Well-being for Health Professionals, and Project Management in Global Health.

His professional journey has included service with the National Electoral Commission, DAYS Stationery Enterprise, Street Child of Sierra Leone, International Rescue Committee, Wellbody Alliance, and Partners In Health. His healthcare career includes serving as a Community Health Worker and Supervisor with Wellbody Alliance and later with Partners In Health, where his responsibilities developed from CHW Chiefdom Coordinator to CHW Chiefdom Officer.

Beyond healthcare, Mohamed has contributed to Kono through education, sports, youth and community organizations. His leadership experience includes serving as UNIMTECH SUG Education Minister, Chairman of Kono Sports Promoters, IT Manager for the Kono District Athletic Association, and leadership roles within other community organizations.

His service has also earned recognition from Partners In Health, including recognition for five years of service in 2020, outstanding accomplishment and support to the Community Based Program in 2023, and ten years of exemplary service in 2025.

MR. AUGUSTINE SAHR SHEKU

Mr. Augustine Sahr Sheku is an accomplished public administrator, development leader, and public-sector reform advocate from Soa Chiefdom, Kono District, with decades of service to Sierra Leone.

Born on 23 May 1958, he attended Kenema Government Secondary School and Bo Government Secondary School and later obtained bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Fourah Bay College and the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, respectively.

His distinguished career in the Sierra Leone Civil Service spanned from 1986 to 2022, beginning as a Higher Executive Officer and culminating in his retirement as a Senior Permanent Secretary. During this period, he served across several government ministries and contributed to public-sector reform, institutional strengthening, infrastructure development, healthcare administration, agriculture, energy, water supply, communications, defence, and internal affairs.

Among his stated contributions are involvement in the modernization of the Ministry of Health and Sanitation; restructuring efforts within the defence sector; public-sector reforms that contributed to the transformation of the Establishment Secretary’s Office into the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO); agricultural mechanization initiatives; and improvements to electricity, water, roads, and communications infrastructure.

His profile particularly highlights contributions to Kono District, including oversight connected to the reconstruction of the Matotoka–Sefadu Road, construction of township roads, restoration of electricity in Koidu City, and development of new SLBC facilities.

As Chairman of the Kono District Council, he states that his administration has developed a six-year district development plan, reconstructed the District Council building, supported youth and agricultural initiatives, established a farmers-owned registered company bringing together farmers’ cooperatives, and undertaken the construction of a boarding school in Soa Chiefdom.

His long record of public service has earned him several recognitions, including an award from the Government of Sierra Leone for meritorious service to the nation and recognition from Jane Afrique as an outstanding District Council Chairman.
