MEET Dr Abdul Karim Bangura, Arguably Amongst the World's most educated people with 5 PhD, speaks 18 languages.

▪️The 70-Yr-Old Sierra Leone’s Dr. Abdul Karim Bangura is an author, academic administrator, researcher and a scientist.

▪️He holds a B.A. in International Studies, an M.A. in International Affairs, an M.S. in Linguistics, a Ph.D. in Political Science, a Ph.D. in Development Economics, a Ph.D. in Linguistics, a Ph.D. in Computer Science, and a Ph.D. in Mathematics.

▪️He has authored and/or edited 35 books and more than 250 scholarly articles.

▪️The doctor can speak 19 languages including; English, Temne, Mende, Krio, Fula, Kono, Limba, Sherbro, Kiswahili, Spanish, Italian, French, Arabic, Hebrew, German, Swedish and fluent Kikuyu.

▪️He had once said in an interview that he is deeply inspired by his father who was an engineer.

“My late father inspires my writing, as he taught me to always fight against injustice and tyranny and to promote the cause of the oppressed, depressed, repressed, and suppressed,” he said.

GHANA passes strict legislation to impose JAIL TERM on people who identify as LGBTQ+

Ghana's parliament approved a highly controversial anti-LGBTQ bill on Wednesday after months of debate. The Human Sexual Rights and Family Values bill is one of the toughest pieces of anti-LGBTQ legislation in Africa.

◉ Homosexuality is already illegal in Ghana and punishable by up to three years in prison.

◉ The bill, which was sponsored by a group of traditional leaders from Ghana's Christian and Muslim communities, now must be signed into law by President Nana Akufo-Addo.

◉ President Addo is widely expected to sign the bill into law, though he's not said publicly whether he'll sign the legislation.

◉ Under the new law, that maximum sentence will increase to five years. It would also bring in a custodial sentence for people convicted of advocating for LGBTQ rights and make the distribution of material deemed supportive of LGBTQ rights illegal.

Arrest for AKA’s assassination
South African police say they have arrested six men over the February 10, 2023, murder of singer Kiernan 'AKA' Forbes and his friend Tebello Motsoane outside a Durban restaurant. Suspects were paid R800,000 for the hit. 4 vehicles and a gun recovered.

The South African rapper and his friend were gunned down at close range whilst celebrating his birthday last
year.

We wish justice for him. May his soul continue to rest in peace

Iconic HIV activist, Hydeia Broadbent, known for being born with the disease, passes away at 39

The activist was abandoned as an infant by her birth parents. Doctors did not believe she would survive past age five as she was born addicted to he**in as well as being HIV positive.

May her gentle soul rest in peace
