I write this post today with a heavy heart as we witness the devastating impact of KUSH, a deadly drug substance, on our beloved country. It pains me to see so many young lives lost and countless others trapped in the vicious cycle of addiction.
It baffles me why the Government of Sierra Leone is dragging its feet on this critical issue. The death toll is rising, and yet, there seems to be a lack of urgency in declaring a public emergency. How many more lives must be lost before action is taken?
Each one of us has been touched by this epidemic in some way – whether through a brother, a sister, a friend, a family member, or a neighbor who has fallen victim to KUSH addiction. These young men and women are not criminals; they are victims of circumstance. With our support and intervention, they can reclaim their lives and become valuable members of society once again.
I have witnessed firsthand the talent and potential wasted due to KUSH addiction. We cannot afford to let this continue. It is never too late to make a change, and it is the responsibility of the government, as the highest authority in the land, to act decisively and swiftly.
Let us raise our voices together and demand action from our leaders. We cannot afford to wait any longer. The future of our nation depends on it. Together, we can save lives and ensure a brighter tomorrow for future generations.
Join me in this crucial fight against KUSH addiction. Together, we can make a difference.
