HIGHLIGHTS OF SLP’S PRESS CONFERENCE OF 3RD DECEMBER 2025.

The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) has unveiled its new uniform and introduced two teargas drones, aimed at enhancing security and controlling public disorder. The event took place at the Senior Police Officers' Mess at Kingtom, Freetown, on December 3, 2025.

1. ACP Alieu Turay, Director of SLP Support Services, stated that the new uniform is of high quality and will provide a proper identity for police officers. He emphasized that the era of different colored uniforms is over and officers will now dress uniformly based on their unit and operations.

2. The SLP has also received two brand new drones that can carry teargas to targeted locations to help handle public order disturbances. ACP Turay assured that the teargas is non-lethal.

3. ACP Brima Kamara, Head of SLP Media, reported that the security situation for the whole country is calm and quiet. He announced the installation of 18 solar lights and 13 security cameras along the Lumley-Aberdeen beaches to strengthen security during the festive season.

4. CSP Rev. Michael Laggah, Head of TOCU, stated that his team is working to tackle crime activities and control the use of harmful drugs. He announced that his Unit has commenced on-the-spot testing of police officers to detect drug use, and those found positive will face the full force of the law.

5. GENERAL REPORT ON RAIDS: The SLP conducted 231 raids across the country, arresting 164 suspects in the past week. The breakdown includes:

- Freetown West: 20 raids, 18 suspects arrested
- Freetown East: 23 raids, 33 suspects arrested
- North West: 60 raids, 37 suspects arrested
- South: 52 raids, 38 suspects arrested
- East: 43 raids, 23 suspects arrested
- North East: 33 raids, 15 suspects arrested

Kush discovered in Drums at Banguma in an innocent house.🤔 It looks like every house should be subjected to search🙄

The situation has seemed like the more they are trying to remove the substance, the more it is entering the country. All the security personnel at the Borders, Airport and mostly Seatport (Water Quay) have big questions to answer. For me, they should be replaced with immediate effect. It's either they know what is happening or they have not been doing their jobs

Police Uncover Major Kush Stash in Fourah Bay — Over 4,500 Wraps Seized at Malta Lane

Freetown, 4th November 2025 — In a major breakthrough in the ongoing crackdown on illegal drugs, the Operations Team of the Harbour Police Division has uncovered a massive haul of substance suspected to be Kush at No. 11 Malta Lane, Fourah Bay Community.

The operation, led by ASP Francis Tommy, was triggered during a routine security patrol when officers arrested Mathew Hindowa with 74 wraps of suspected Kush at Malta Lane. Acting on intelligence obtained at the scene, the police executed a search warrant at the same location — a residence reportedly belonging to Unisa Koroma, alias “Maff,” who is currently on the run.

The search led to the discovery of over 4,500 wraps, 15 ounces, and two loose quantities of a substance believed to be Kush, along with Le 50,800 suspected to be proceeds from the sale of the drug.

All exhibits have been properly documented and secured as evidence while investigations continue to track down the main suspect and determine the source of the illegal substances.

Police in Lunsar Arrest Notorious Drug Dealer During Targeted Raid

Lunsar, Sierra Leone — Thursday, 30th October 2025:
In a decisive move to curb the sale and distribution of harmful drugs within the Lunsar Division, police have arrested a suspected notorious drug dealer, Hassan Koroma, commonly known as Sky, of Madigbo Junction, Marampa Chiefdom.

The arrest followed a well-coordinated police raid targeting hotspots known for illegal drug activity. During the operation, officers found Hassan Koroma in possession of substances believed to be narcotics (Kush).

The suspect is currently in custody, assisting investigators as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle drug networks operating within the township of Lunsar..

The Lunsar Police Division reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining law and order, emphasizing that operations against drug trafficking and abuse will continue unabated.
